Southville International School and Colleges has appointed Ms. Jocelyn P. Tizon
as acting president to advance the mission and vision of the school. Tizon, who
holds a Master of Business Administration from American City University and is
finishing a PhD in Management from the Lyceum of the Philippines, brings to the
position nineteen years of experience in senior leadership at SISC. She will succeed
Dr. Marl V. Ferenal who has announced his intent to retire after serving a 19-year
tenure as chief executive.
Before her newest appointment, Tizon has served as Executive Vice President and
Vice President for Administration of SISC responsible for the effective and efficient
management and delivery of administrative programs and services that support the
academic endeavors. Recognized for her work in training and development, education
and learning, and campus administration, she has served as Executive Director of
the Asian Association of School Human Resource Management and Development
Practitioners, Inc since 1999.

She co-wrote several books that include Strategic Human Resource Management: Local and Global Perspectives, Job Ranking
and Salary Schemes for Schools, and Compensation and Benchmark Survey in Schools in the Philippines.
Tizon has also taught in the areas of business administration and human resource management at both the graduate and
undergraduate levels. She is uniquely positioned to lead SISC into an exciting new era with her administrative experience and
scholarly work.
Students from SISC were named recipients of top certificates
in the 2018 International Competitions and Assessments
for Schools (ICAS) - Mathematics Assessment conducted
by Educational Assessment Australia. The competition is
participated in by more than twenty countries from Asia,
Africa, Europe, and America.
Ervin Joshua Bautista received the High Distinction Medal
and Medal Winner’s Certificate for getting the top score in
his level. Gwyneth Margaux Tangog, on the other hand,
was awarded the High Distinction Certificate for making it
to the top 1% of the takers in her level.

Jeremiah Rivera, Raven Breanna Maat, Antwone Santino
Ong, Miguel Dominico Alzona and Stefano Crispino De
Castro earned the Distinction Certificate for belonging in
the next 10% of the takers in their level. Graciela Gonzales,
Deeyon Rouche Tolentino, Samantha Tricia Lobien and
Rueben Byron Maat were given the Credit Certificate for
belonging in the next 20% of the takers in their level while
Glicella Dane Baniqued, Joshua Levi Santos and Seryung
Park got the Merit Certificate for being in the next 10% of
the entrants in their level.
The ICAS - Mathematics Assessment tests the
participants’ skills and knowledge in algebra and patterns,
data and statistics, measures and units, number and
arithmetic, and space and geometry. The SISC awardees
won for their performance relative to other students
worldwide of the same year level.

The Worthwhile Weekend Programs
(WWP) will have their second run this new
year. The WWP is SISC’s offering for
students and other interested parties who
may want to put their Saturdays into good
use by learning new skills or knowledge in
fun and interesting ways.
In the Performing Arts, the classes offered
are Ballet in partnership with ACTS Manila.
Art for Kids is also available.
For the sportsminded, there are classes in
Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, Karate-Do,
Arnis, and Chess.
Program duration is from February - April,
2019. For details, call Elydia Reyes at 825-
2358 loc 327, or fill out the reply slip of this
bulletin.There should be a minimum of 5
students to open a class.
