, "And when he is come he will reprove the world ofsin ... " (John 16:8)One of the main missions of the Holy Ghost is toreprove the world of sin. We sometimes use otherwords such as condemn, convict, and arrest; but theword we stress in this message is the word reprove. The Holy Ghost reproved some of sin in the OldTestament times, but in His own dispensation He re-

proves ALL of sin (John 16:8).In the Old Testament the Holy Ghost moved uponcertain chosen vessels, on certain occasions; God usedthe best material He had. They were moved upon fromthe outside. The holy men of God wrote as they weremoved by the Holy Ghost (II Peter 1:21). But in theNew Testament times the manifestation of the Spiritis given to everyone. Now the Holy Ghost dwellswith-in us at all times (John 14:17). Since we are baptizedwith the Holy Ghost He moves N US (John7:38-39), instead of moving UPON us at times (Judges13 :25). In the Old Testament they responded to. theHoly Ghost, but we have received the Holy Ghost. Then Godmoved upon a nation, having laws writtenon tablets of stone; but now He commandeth ALL

MEN EVER E to repent (Acts 17:30), writingthe laws in fleshly tablets of our hearts (II Cor. 3:3)-our conscience bearing us witness by the Holy Ghost(Rom. 2:15; 9:1). Then the Holy Ghost dwelt mainlywith a nation; now the grace of God that bringethsalvation has appeared to ALL men (Titus 2:11).Now no man comes to Jesus unless the Fa therdraws him by the Holy Ghost. But .whosoever will maycome (Rev. 22:17); for the Spirit knocks at least onceon every heart's door (Titus 2:11).

Office Work of the Holy GhostSins Which Are Unpardonablethey a i'e both under conviction crying for salvation. One gets saved, the other does not.

,)On the way home one says, "How did you get saved? Why didn't I get saved? I pled my case and pled my,case.and did not get anywhere.""That is where you missed it," replied the savedlawyer, "you should have pled guilty and you wouldhave gone free."Ifwe confess our sins He is faithful and just to for-give our sins" (I John 1:9). As a prosecuting attorney

the Holy Ghost takes God's part. He fights for us ifwe are on God's side; against us if we are not.

We have one government; but there are three partsit. We have one God with three personalities. Theoly Ghost as a prosecuting attorney comes and tellss we have broken God's laws. He arrests us and takess before the Father, who is the judge of all the earth,ho will do right (Gen. 18:25). God's justice says were worthy of eternal death. But Jesus, who is ourleading Attorney, pleads our case before the Judgehat is if we will confess we are guilty. He says, "Iave taken this boy's place and paid his debt for him."he Judge marks it paid.We may liken this to two brothers. The elder brotherlways took the younger brother's part and did hisghting for him. But he looked one morning and sawis younger brother COIningin from the back yardith bloody, dirty clothes on. The sheriff was afterim because he had killed a man. After studying aoment he quickly changed clothes with his youngerrother. The sheriff arrested the man with the bloodylothes on and carried him into court. The younger brother felt so badly about it thate could stand it no longer. He ran to town and wentto the presence of the judge yelling, "I am guilty;y elder brother is innocent." But they had just putis brother to death for the crime! The debt was marked paid, The books were clear.hey let the man go free because he promised to liverespectable life as his brother did, to wear hisrother's clothes and live in, his house.Jesus is my elder Brother who traded places withe. He died that I might live! He became the Son ofan that I might become a son of God. He took myns and gave to me His righteousness! He bore myckness that I might have His divine LLalth! Two lawyers go into an old time brush arbor re-ival to make fun. By the time of the altar service

Many Ways to Sin Against Holy Ghost 5done. One way is to let bitterness take possession ofyou. We shall study this la ter in the experience ofEsau. Then wrath, anger, clamor, evil-speaking, andthe spirit of unforgiveness may all start you on theroad. How many have grieved the Holy Spirit away!He gives us a solemn warning to "Quench not theSpirit" (1 Thes. 5:19). We may sin against the HolyGhost by speaking a word against Him (Matt. 12:32),or to commit any act whatsoever that does despite tothe Spirit of Grace, which can be fatal (Heb. 10:26:29).

We may commit the unpardonable sin by sinningwilfully after we come to the knowledge of the truth(Heb. 10:26). Who knows when a person has sinnedwilfully, or when he has come to the full knowledge ofthe truth, except the Lord ? We will discuss this in alater chapter.God is speaking of this same thing in Hebrews6 :4-6; He tells us of people who have been filled withthe Holy Ghost falling away after they have tastedof the gifts and the powers of the world to come.He that resisteth the power receives unto himselfdamnation (Rom. 13 :2). People may seal their doomby lying to the Holy Ghost (Acts 5:1-10).Since the only way for a Ulan ever to be broughtto God is for the Holy Ghost to reprove him, thenanyway he acts, or anything he does to grieve theHoly Ghost away so that He will never return, sep-arates him from God forever, for he has no way tocome to God.We may liken this to a boy who holds corn in hishand, but shuts his hand just before a dove lights onhis hand. The dove ftys away, but soon returns. Butafter the boy repeats this same act over and overagain the dove takes her departure forever. If you knock on a neighbor's door everyday withno response, some day you will knock for your -Iasttime.

Chapter IIWAYS TO SIN AGAINST THEHOLY GHOST

"And the Lord said, my Spirit shall not alwaystrive with man" (Gen. 6:3).One of the ways to sin against the Holy Ghost isascribe to Satan the works of the Holy GhostMutt. 12:22-32). Jesus did all His miracles under thenointing of the Holy Ghost (Acts 10:38; Luke 4:18)nd said that we could do the same if He went awaynd sent the Holy Ghost (John 14:12).As Jesus was healing people by the Holy Ghostnointing the people said He was doing it by the powerf the Devil. That was when Jesus gave the strongarning that they were close to the unpardonable sin. There is no place recorded in the Bible that theevil ever healed, or ever will heal anyone. But therere many places which state that the devil does notAt the beginning of each revival we have someoneho is almost sure to deny the existance of miraclesday. Before the revival is over, after many miracleske place, which people would make a fool of them-elves to deny, they change their tune and say theevil did it.Bible days are here again. I take this opportunitygive the same warning to the twentieth centuryharisees as Jesus gave to those cold, cruel clergymenf the first century.Another way to commit this fatal sin is to blasphemee Holy Ghost. There are many ways to blasphemee working of the Holy Ghost (Mark 3 :22-29; Luke:14-20).God warns us to grieve not the Holy Spirit (Eph.:30). Then He tells us in the next verse how it may be

Chapter mWHO MAY SIN AGAINST THEHOLY GHOST.

,". . . Whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost

it shall not be forgiven him... (Matt. 12~32).The word "whosoever" here means the same aswhosoever in John 3:16. Just as anyone may be savedso anyone may have the choice of refusing that sal-vation as a final decision.Anyone who has the Holy Ghost may sin againstHim."For it is impossible for those who were once en-lightened, and tasted of the heavenly gift, and weremade partakers of the Holy Ghost, and have tastedthe good word of God, and the powers of the world tocome, IF THF:Y SHALL FALL AWAY, TO RENEWTHEM AGAIN TO REPENTANCE ... " (Heb. 6:4-6).This means just anyone in that class, Jews or Gentiles. The reason that most folk backslide they are trap-

ped and snared by the devil. But when a person hasthe knowledge of God's Word and the gifts of theSpirit, it is hard for Satan to trap him. The only wayfor him to go down is to do so wilfully, on purpose,.knowing what he is doing. After one has come to the knowledge of the truthand sinned wilfully there remains no more sacrifice

for sins (Heb. 10:26) .He becomes as Balaam who walked into sin on pur-

pose knowing what he was doing. He received a repro-bate mind and said God told him to do it (II Peter2:15). People who do this become worse than theywere before they received salvation (v. 20). It wouldhave been hetter if they had never been saved. Theycannot cease from sin (v. 14). Just as God did notspare the angels that sinned, who knew better, so He

Sins Which Are Unpardonable Who May Sin Against the Holy Ghost 9Their conscience is seared. They go out the next dayand commit the same old sins. Honest confession isgood for the soul if you do not go back and do thesame things again! No wonder some people "praythrough" every time they go to a revival and then 'goback and do the same old sins again. They have be-come as Esau! Ifwe confess our sins AND FORSAKEOUR SINS He will abundantly pardon.I know of a boy who broke his mother's dishes fora long time. Everytime she talked to him he said he

was "so sorry." One day she brought a switch in. Whenshe was through with him he repented. He quit doing it.Unless we REPENT we shall all likewise perish.Esau could not repent, because he wilfully sold hisbirthright. We can do the same (Heb. 12),

ts people have their choice and fall away (II Peter1; see Jude). They fall away just as Cain who was driven fromod's presence forever; like Core who rebelled againstis leader and was destroyed (Jude 11). They may be-ome as Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5:1-10), whoed to the Holy Ghost and was struck dead on the spot. These are finally "plucked up by the roots" (Jude2). The blackness of hell is reserved for them for-er (Jude 13). Like thousands today they are wilfullynorant (II Peter 3:5).God said Christians could become as Esau, who soldbirthright. He later sought repentance with tears,t never found it (Heb. 12:15-17). We, in this dispen-tion, may become that way if we let a root of bitter-ss spring up. Itwill grow so large it will push all ofout of us.Bitterness is what caused Cain to be driven from's presence forever. Itcaused Judas to fall throughansgression after he preached the Gospel. He alsommitted suicide. Saul confessed but he never re-nted. At one time he had a new heart and wasanged into another man and preached (I Sam., chap-rs 10 and 31). He came to a place where God an-ered him no more (28:6). God told Samuel thereas no use to pray for Saul any more, because Heod) had given him up. We can get into the samendition (I John 5:16). We may cross the dead linehere there is no use for anyone to pray for us.One day I got on the wrong road the right roadt on the wrong end. (Many today are in the righturch but going the wrong way). I was sorry enoughcry. I could have cried and confessed to everyoneho carne by, but I would have still been on the wrongad. I finally repented, for I got on the right road. Many confess and cry as Esau, but there is no re-ntance. Their constitution is completely broken down.

Chapter IVANYONE MAY SIN AGAINST THEHOLY GHOST

"He that hateth reproof is brutish" (Prov. 12:1).The only way we can be reproved is for the HolyGhost to reprove us. But if people do not want to bereproved; if men, from their hearts, turn the HolySpirit away, so that He takes His departure forever, then they become as a natural brute beast with nomore conscience than a hog (Jude 10). Their con-science becomes seared just as if you were to put a hotiron to a piece of fresh meat (I Tim. 4:1-4). Theirsenses are not exercised to discern good and evil, andthey cannot discern right from wrong (Heb. 5:14).Spiritually they become blind, forgotten that they wereever purged from their old sins (II Peter 1:9), evendenying the Lord that saved them (II Peter 2:1).ANY CHRISTIAN MAY SIN AGAINST THE HOLYGHOST. He is with any Christian (John 14:17)."Because that, when they knew God, they glorifiedhim not as "God, neither were they thankful; but be-came vain in their imaginations, and their foolishhearts were darkened ... WH F:REFORE GOD GAVETH E :M UP ... For this cause GOD GAVE THEM UPto vile affections . . . GOD GAVE TH E:M OVER to areprobate mind ... " (Rom. 1 :21-28). This is speakingof people who once knew God. The devil takes posses-sion of their imaginations, hearts, affections, and minds. They are worthy of death because they knew God'sjudgments before they deliberately choose the wrongpath (v. 32).A brother may sin unto death and get where thereis no use to pray for him (I John 5:16).AFTER Christians depart from the faith they maygive heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, speaking lies in hypocricy (ITim. 4:1-4).

Anyone May Sin Against Holy Ghost 11He (anyone) who resisteth the power receiveth untohimself damnation (Rom. 13:1). Rebellion is as thesin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity andidolatry (I Sam. 15:23).After men give heed to doctrines of devils they jumpfrom one false doctrine to another, receiving a newlight or new revelation nearly every night. The sinner, bootlegger, and heathen will set down with Abraham,Issac, and Jacob while they are cast out into outer dark-ness (Matt. 8:12).A good pastor was telling me how one of his mem-bers was tempted to go into a worldly place of amuse-ment. The Holy Spirit checked her. She started in thenext day, but again the Holy Spirit reproved her. When she tried to go in the third day the Holy Spiritwas not there to condemn her.She went in, but was never the same again. She nowgoes around telling people that she does not "feel con-demned over it."If something used to be wrong 20 years ago, whenyou were first saved, it is wrong now. God does notchange (Mal. 3:6). If you used to be condemned aboutsomething, and you are not condemned now, you arein a bad condition!A good Christian lady who had lived for God eightyears, and was a leader in a church, came and told meshe thought she would go into sin and just see whatshe could get out of it. I knew that she would neverbe the same again, because she did it knowingly withher eyes open. Now she confesses and cries every revival, but can-not repent. Now she has been married three times and

walks down the street painted up like a harlot, wearingmen's clothing, and does not feel condemned!Another lady felt like she should nqt go to a certainworldly place. But after she prayed over it she saidGod told her she could go .

Chapter VMANY SIN AGAINST THE HOLY GHOSTAND DIE"He, that being often reproved, hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy"(Prov. 29:1). (The Holy Ghost reproves).Paul practiced turning people over to Satan for thedestruction of the flesh (ITim. 1:20), and commands

us to do the same. Peter did the same when he spokethe word for Ananias and Sapphira to be struck deadfor lying to the Holy Ghost (Acts 5).In Dallas, while the Holy Ghost was speaking andstriving with people I gave a solemn warning to all.I advised that no one rebel against the Holy Ghost. Agirl walked out and was under the sod within threedays.A lady walked out of a Holy Ghost service whileshe was under conviction in another town. She madeher final decision and blew her brains out with a shot-gun. She was forced to obey God or the devil.Three men resisted our tent revival in another town, causing us to move the tent before time. All threedied suddenly in about two weeks.I helped to pray .a young man through to the HolyGhost, but his parents influenced him to join the armyin order to keep him away from church. They told himthey wanted him to make a "mark in the world."The last time he was on his furlough, dressed in allhis bars and stripes, he was seen on the outside of thetabernacle at an old-fashioned camp meeting. Duringthe altar call my sister walked up to him and asked,"Didn't you used to be saved and filled with the HolyGhost?" "Yes, but I never hope to be that way again," heslowly and thoughtfully answered. There is a difference when an action is premeditated.

Sins Which Arc UnpardonableBalaam did the same thing and received a delusion22). We may do likewise (II Peter 2:15; Jude; Rev. 2: 14) .A Sinner May Sin Against the Holy GhostGod said because they received not the love of theuth that they might be saved He would send themrong delusions that they might be damned (II Thes,11) .The Holy Ghost reproves every sinner (John 16:8).sus was speaking to unregenerated people when Hearned them of the unpardonable sin (Matt. 12:32).

Undoubtly he is still going down!A backslidden girl in Malvern, Arkansas, rejectedand walked out of the church. As she was going0 miles per hour the car wrecked, leaving her eyeballnd brains sticking to a telephone pole. You may say I anl trying to scare you. I wish toI could. The fear of God.is the beginning of wis-om (Ps. 111:10). Fools have no fear of God beforeeir eyes (Rom. 3:18).Some say I aIn telling graveyard stories. No doubthey also said the same about Jesus when He toldbout the rich man who died and went to hell.I put my hands on a man's head as the Holy Ghostpoke through me; but he .rebelled against the Holyhost for his last time and walked out at the door.car hit him and scattered his brains up the highwayr 50 yards.A backslidden girl who' used to sit in' our Sundayhool class became' convicted, She shook during theltar calls in church. Then she stayed away fromhurch because the Holy Ghost reproved her whene came. One Saturday. night while on a drunken spree sheit a .Iumber truck and knocked her face nearly offs she was going 80 miles per hour.I found her mother (or mama) in an almost dyingondition. I carried her juices to keep her alive. Sheaid she wanted me to hold her daughter's funeralervices, but did not want me to carry her to a church.. .s the funeral arrangements were almost completedhe mother said she did not want any preaching. Ase' started to prepare some songs she said she did notant any singing. I started to pray and the mother andad left the house. What could I do but put her intoe ground as a natural brute beast. But her soul hadone to meet God anyway.

Friends, it would take volumes to tell what we alonehave experienced along this line, not saying anythingof the thousands of ministers who could tell you thingsof the same nature. But many of us dare not tellthese experiences because, after all, their folks wouldknow who we are talking about. And what is the usemaking them feel bad when we cannot help the personwho has gone on?People will argue "once saved always saved," butafter I tell them a few of the above Scriptures in thisbook they will change their tune a little and say thebacksliders will always come back to God except whenthey cross the "dead-line"; and then, we agree. Butwho knows where the dead-line is?

the same again after he sits under the workings of theHoly "Ghost. The main danger is rebelling against luiracles or thesupernatural. The people of Sodom will condemn themat the day of Judgment. The Holy Ghost conviction and miracles is God'slast means to bring this world back to God. When peo-ple rebel, and the Holy Ghost is grieved away, thereis no remedy.God worked miracles just before the door of the Ark-was. shut as He sent the animals into the Ark. Theyhad more sense than people. God sent miracles justbefore He destroyed people in the Red Sea, and de-livered His people. The true Gospel is like a two-edged sword it cutsboth ways. It will either km or cure. The same sun thatsoftens the wax hardens the clay. The Gospel willsoften the heart that accepts it or harden the heartthat rejects. One of my fellow ministers had just become involvedin a dispute with his wife, as they were pastoring achurch. He went to the bathroom and begged Godto take away his anointing of the Holy Ghost foreverand never return to him. Of course, he is sorry of itnow, but he was sincere then knowing what he wasdoing. Now they have to take his guns away from him, tokeep him from killing himself. He ima.gines people areagainst him. He imagines things about his wife. Hehears voices. They are planning on taking him to thestate hospital where there are many more in his samecondition, who used to be right with God.

Chapter VIMANY HAVE SINNED AGAINST THEHOLY GHOST AND LIVED

"Whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost it shallot be forgiven him ... " (Matt. 12:32).My main message is in this chapter.God told me to warn everyone of this. Most peoplewell on the subject of people who make the final stepnd die; but I want to stress the possibility of you liv-g for years after you seal your doom.T~ere is a way that seemeth right but the wayereof is the way of death.

.As I started to pray for a man to be saved he callede to one side and told me his story. It did somethingme I shall never get over.He said he knew when he walked out of a brushrbor meeting five years before that he shouldn't do it.e knew what he was doing and told God he didn'tant Him. That was the last time he was ever reprovedy the HOly Ghost. He said he had not felt the Spiritince then, and knew he never would. I didn't believeim and prayed for him about 40 minutes. But herose and walked away saying, "It's no use."Of course God is still willing and is yet saying, "Who-oever will." But the man disconnected himself. Asng as he believes there is no chance he will nevere saved. He WIll always believe that because his mindcrystallized.Since then I have met so many scores in the sameondition. I think only five per cent die suddenly aftery cross the dead-line. While we have seen thousandsaved and filled with the Spirit we have seen manyilfully walk out at the door to never get another call.here is not much danger of this in a church wherehe power of God is not there. But a person is never

This happened forour ensample .God says if you speak against the Holy Ghost itshall not be forgiven you (Matt. 12:32). But L havespoken against the Holy Ghost many times before Iwas saved; and God forgave me.But God explains that as a man speaketh in hisheart,so is he. Just as one may worship God with hislips and his heart be far from Him (Matt: 15:8), sowe can say things with our mouth and really notmean it from our hearts. Iwas forgiven because Ididnot mean it from my heart .Many people speak with their hearts and never saya word with their mouths. And many times that wordis final and fatal! Who knows, but God, when a manspeaks in his heart and makes a final decision! Whenhe says, "Lord, go on and leave me alone forever.'God awoke me one night from sleep and Ifound my-self praying in the Holy Ghost. After about two hour s

sleep again and saw a vision. Ifound Ihad prayedhrough for my brother 6,000 miles away on Midwaysland. He was in the Marines in a 4 days and nightsattle during World War II.Within a few hours Ireceived a cablegram sayinge was alright. Later Iheard that nine-tenths of hisuddies were killed and he was not hurt.During that battle many nice American airplanesad been flying close by. But one had strayed away tooar and could not return because the enemy was therend the battle was on.

oAs my brother was listening to the radio he hea 1 " ( 1he pilot call earnestly for a code so he could come in.ut the marines laughed at him because he had waitedoo long .

But he had waited too late."I have drifted too far. I aln out of gas. I am lost.,am going down. Someone help quickly!"But regardless of how badly they might have wantedo, they could not; for he had cut himself off by goingoo far and waiting too long.Neighbor', the life line is out now! Now is the ac-epted time; the only time God has ever promised toelp. He does not promise to help you tomorrow. Heis not obligated to speak to you the second time untilhe has spoken to the people across the sea the firsttime.Soon the battle will be on. The tribulation days willbe here. The devil will be turned loose with great wrathon this sin-cursed world yes 'turned loose with all

his demons! We will be at the marriage supper in theair during that time. Then you may do as the man in the airplane youmay say, "Help, my vessel is empty of oil. Idid not geta refilling in time; Iam lost; Iam going down, down, down!"Yes, a million years from now you will still be goingdown; shut out where there will never be a Christianwife or mother; no praying Christians, no little chil-dren, and no water! Please don't wait too late. This is the last call tothe Marriage of the Lamb. "Whosoever will, maycome" (Rev. 22:17). If you are still willing you havenot gone too far. But don't wait until your will-poweris broken and your conscience is seared! Finally people go into a new revelation, or a newlight, which leads them 'into doctrines of devils. Thenthey break' up churches by teaching they will neverbe sick, never die, should never marry, and manylike things. They soon handle snakes, eat fire, teachfree love, or sexual purity. They teach Jesus has al-ready come, the ressurrection has passed, or even saythey are Jesus! Some will go so far as to go into someformal church they came out of and deny the HolyGhost Baptism. Many who used to be saved are now following aNegro calling him God."Examine yourselves ... except ye be reprobates"(IT Cor. 13:5).

Dear God, help all who read this to turn beforeit is too late, while the Lifeline is thrown out.

"I am lost" he cried, "help me."He was some mother's boy, but there was no help!'Ihave one more minute of gas," the message came

    LEAVE GOD AI.ONE

Let God Alone 23Let God AlonePLEASE DO NOT READ TillS MESSAGE-untilou have time to read it all; don't pass judgment on itntil you are through.Faith pays no attention to such a statement as .l~he title.Go tell a preacher not to preach. You may as wellry to stop a rooster from crowing. Itonly proveshether or not the preacher is called. If he is reallyalled he win have fire shut up in his bones and cannotorbear (Jer. 20:9). The coal of fire in' his tongueill cause him to say," Here am I, send me" (Isa.Tell the man who has received a blessing from Godo tell no man. That only proves whether or not hisestimony is real. He will tell it so much the more Mk.Tell a sinner not to commit sin. You may as well tryo stop the wind from blowing. Whatever is in thereas to come out.Oppose an honest hearted righteous man; just asppression caused the Children of Israel to multiply:ust as persecution brought out the best that was in

early Church; so opposition will show where theeal fire of God is today. The more you stir the firehe more it will burn. Persecution will cause the Spiritf the glory and of God to rest so much the more onod's people (Luke 6:22, 23) (I Peter 4:12-14)(James 1:2). Kill a man and ten more will rise up ins place.

gestion! Moses immediately saw that there was a pos-sibility of him holding on to God until he receivedthe answer.Just as a father binds himself to a son by a promise

so Moses had God where he wanted him and said. ,"Remember what you said." The Lord had sworn byHimself to Abraham. He cannot deny Himself! He hasexalted His Word above His name (Ps. 138:2). He willbreak His covenant with the sun, moon, and stars be-fore He will break His Word with us (Jer. 33:20) !God spared the children of Israel because God was

bound by His Word to do what His servant demanded.LET GOD GO

"Now therefore let me alone ... that I may con-ume them" Ex. 32:10). Yes, God actually told Moseso let Him alone; and Moses took the hint. He actuallyold Moses to stop praying; but what a power of sug-

."And he said, Let me go ... and he said, I will notlet thee go, except thou bless me" (Gen. 33:26).Had not God promised to bless Jacob as He did

Abraham? Jacob could say, "God, you said, ... " Andwe all know what kind of blessing Jacob received inspite of the fact that God told him to let Him go!Those very words sugggested that Jacob as good

as had it. All he needed to do was to fight on throughto victory. The words, "LEr me go," only showed theangel could not go until Jacob LET him. We have itin our power to LET.This tested his sincerity, and showed he was no

quitter. He refused to let the Lord go and "He blessedhim there."Why did Jesus permit the disciples to try to send

the woman away (Matt. 15:23)? Why did He call hera dog and tell her it was not for her? If we had beenthat little lady we probably would have gone awaydiscouraged and told people that that sickness wasa blessing or that it was God's will. But true faith does not quit. That made the mother

get more in earnest. Faith thrives on trials. The veryfact Jesus told her to let the children be fed first

DON'T BOTHER GOD"And they that went before rebuked him that hehould hold his peace; but he cried so much the more"uke 18:39).There was something within blind Bartimaeus thatst would not hold back, but pushed him on; some-ing that cried so much the more when Jesus' owneople were permitted to try to stop him froIl! seek-ng God. That something was faith. You can't stopaith that moves mountains! It would be easier totop the H. Bomb. The Army and Navy could not have held back thatan that day. The very fact that he was told not toeep on until he received, proved .hat he could. Henew Jesus could have no respect to persons, andet be Jesus. Opposition only brought out the besthat was in him.I know of a certain pastor who makes it a practicehen a strange person comes into his service andemonstrates, to rebuke that person before the publicelling him to sit down and behave. If the person keepsoming and stays sweet, the pastor knows he is sin-ere, and trys to get him for a member, giving himll freedom. If he quits or becomes angry the pastornows he did not mean business with God from his

where He is not wanted, saw just how badly the dis-ciples wanted Him when He made as if He wouldkeep going. And that made them desire Him more.Jesus' own disciples were permitted to forbid somepeople to cast out devils in His name. That drove themcloser to God, proving they were honest. When we are seeking God with all our heart wewill not let anything make us turn Him loose. He didnot only teach us to , but He said KNOCK (Luke11:9). We must press into the Kingdom (Luke 16:16).The woman with the issue let nothing hold herback (Mk. 5). The reckless faith of the four leperscaused them to march to victory and storm the fort, bringing deliverance even to a nation (II Kings 7).

    DON'T WORRY GOD

TURN GOD LOOSE"And he made as if he would go further. But they

onstrained him" (Luke 24:28-29).On the road to Emmaus Jesus, who will not go

" . . . lest oy her continual coming she worry me"(Luke 18). Some are so afraid they will worry God;but Jesus suggested that very thing. Shall not Godavenge His own elect that cry unto Him night and day?The man let down through the roof was not afraidthat he would worry the Lord; although the religousleaders would hold him back.Praying, , asking, and knocking will notworry the Lord; but merely saying the words willworry Him (Mal. 2:17).The message is this: Stop seeking God or seek Himwith ALL your heart. Be either hot or cold. In theday that you get in earnest and seek God with ALLyour heart He will be found (Jer. 29:13). But to himthat is half-hearted, or unstable, let not that man thinkhe will receive anything of the Lord. The other night I saw them bring a little lady intothe healing line in Fort Smith in a straight chair. Imotioned for them to keep her back. I wanted to waituntil faith was built up so she could receive. But she

God's Little FingerIn Moses' day the water in the rivers turned tolood! Heaps of dead frogs made the land to stink.he dust was turned to lice. Grievous flies corruptede land. All kinds of livestock died. The people weremitten with boils. Hail and fire ran along the ground.ocusts ate all green things. The land was coveredith thick darkness. Death claimed the first born childeach home. Plagues of God's judgment covered theation of Egypt at one time. The people acknowledgedat it was "the finger of God" (Ex. 8:19).In the near future, not only the rivers, but all theaters will be blood. Not only frogs, lice, flies, andwill be in that day, but pestilence "worse thanhe world has ever known." Instead of the locustsurting the grass and green things they will hurt men,s death, for five months. Instead of hail .ith fire there will be fire pulled down from heaven

God's Little Finger 276 God's Lit tle Fingerould not stay back. The more I asked her to stayack the more she tried to slide her chair and getthers to slide it. That was theirst time she had walked in eighteen years. Her chairat church and she is still walking!I have not found so great faith, not even in Pente-ost! She would not take no for an answer.I told another lady to stay back and she becamengry and ran home, proving she was not seeking withll her heart.A winner never quits; a quitter never wins. InMoses' day one out of eachfamily died; but in the time of "sorrow greater thanthe world has ever known" one-half of the people willdie by starvation, by hunger, and by the sword (Rev.6:8; 9:18), while others, torrnented by grievous sorescrying for the rocks, will desire to die, but death willflee from them. There will be "tribulation worse thanthe world has ever known."A "mysterious red tide" has already appeared inthe Pacific Ocean, Niagara Falls, and many lakes andstreams throughout the nation, according to somenewspaper reports. The scientists could not tell it fromblood. We have already seen millions of martyrs, warsand rumors of wars, famines, pestilences, earthquakes, droughts, and floods, to say nothing of the otherthousands of sure signs. If what happened in Moses' time was the finger ofGod; ifwhat is going on now is the finger of God whatwill happen when God makes bare His mighty ~rrn toight this Godless world (Jer. 21:5)! We can now seeHis hand-writing on the wall to this Godless nationsaying, "your days are numbered."God has power over the nations. He has power overdemons, death, and disease. When the poor fatherbrought his son to Jesus because the evil spirits had

made him "wallow foaming at the mouth," "fall intothe water," and "fall into the fire," "taketh him" and"tareth him" Jesus set the boy free. 'Look at the man with 6000 demons. He "cut him-

self with stones." He would not wear any clothes. Hestayed in the graveyard. He was cast out of societyaway from his family and friends. But Jesus cast outthe legion of devils and let the man go home to hisfamily and friends.
