Report on Organ Donation Mega Event

Date: Saturday 30th August 2016

Participants: All MCA Students

Mega Rally being organized on 30th Aug 2016 between 8.00am to 11:00am, starting from

different points in the city and ending at B. J. Govt. Medical College Ground, Pune. Through

this Campaign, the government aims to maximize the number of voluntary registration for

Cadaveric (Post Death) Organ Donation.

Sinhgad Institute of Management and Computer Application (SIMCA-MCA), Narhe had participated in the mega event on Organ Donation Organized by B.J.G. Medical College Pune

Total 150 Students from SIMCA had participated in this rally from 7 Loves chowk to B.J.

Govt. Medical College ground on 30thAug 2016.

Former Indian president Hon. Dr. PratibhaPatil and anti-corruption crusader Mr. Anna Hazare have pledged to donate organs. They have signed the documents that allow their

families to donate their organs after their demise. They were in the city to support the organ donation awareness rally on Tuesday organised by Sassoon. General Hospital and B.

J. Medical College work as a part of three days state-wide awareness program. As many as seven rallies were undertaken along city streets which saw hundreds of Puneites

participate and support organ donation. Among the others present at the function were

Pune Bishop Thomas Dabre, Pune city Mayor Prashant Jagtap and popular Marathi actor Sonali Kulkarni.

Addressing the audience assembled at BJMC ground, Anna urged people to pledge their

organs. “All my life I have worked for Mother India and now I pledge to donate my

organs”, said Anna. Patil lauded the efforts taken by the government hospital in her

address. “Along with donating food, money and also sponsoring education, organ donation

must also be seen as a noble initiative”. Speaking on occasion, Bishop Dabre said, “Organ donation is an act of humanity”. All of us must unite to save lives of those in dire

need.”

Report on Traffic Awareness Day

Date: 6th October 2016

Participants: All SIMCA Students

The traffic awareness day is mainly aimed at spreading awareness about road safety norms

and basic rules. With the aim to inculcate basic traffic etiquette in residents, the traffic

control branch of Pune police will organise a Traffic Awareness Day on October 6th 2016.

As a part of the campaign, traffic police aim to form a 100-kilometre-long human chain on

the city roads as a symbolic gesture.

The day is mainly aimed at spreading awareness about road safety norms and basic rules

like halting before the Zebra Crossing at traffic signals, following the traffic signals,

avoiding unnecessary honking, use of helmets and seat belts and giving priority to

ambulances on the streets.

Sinhgad Institute of Management and Computer Application (SIMCA-MCA), Narhe had

participated in the Traffic Awareness Day Organized by Pune Traffic Police. Total 170

Students from SIMCA had participated in this rally on 6th October 2016.

Report on Tree Plantation on Sinhgad Fort

Date: 5th June 2015

Participants: All SIMCA Students

“He who plants a tree Plants a hope”.

So true are these words quoted by the poetess Lucy Larcom during the 19th

century! This quote is appropriate today more than ever before. With problems like

scarcity of potable water to drink and fresh air to breathe, it is high time that we

take planting trees seriously. Trees – friends of mankind – give fruits, shade, paper

and the list is endless.

After reaching the hill top of Sinhgad Fort, as per the instructions given, the

students dug holes, cut plastic containers and planted saplings. By and by, they

planted more than 100 trees like mango, kanchan, jamun (black plum), palash,

amla, apta, pipal, banyan, neem, tamarind and many more flowering and medicinal

plants. The students dispersed with a content heart, satisfied and feeling proud of

contributing to the Mother Nature.

Planting trees was an unforgettable moment for the participants as each boosted of

planting 8, 10 or even above a dozen saplings. The SIMCA team is hopeful to see

those 100+ saplings planted by their own hands, grow into trees and bloom into

flowers and ripe fruits, bringing along fresh air, sufficient rainfall and thick cool

shade. It was an excursion with a social cause indeed!

Report on Blood Donation

Date: 27th February 2016

Participants: All SIMCA Students and Faculties

Sinhgad Institute of Management and Computer Application, had arranged a “Blood

Donation Camp” on Saturday, 27th February 2016 with the cooperation of Smt. Kashibai

Navale General Hospital Blood Bank, Narhe, Pune and Manikchand group. The blood

donors were given jalebi, banana Biscuits and frooti after donating the blood in order to

reenergize themselves. The blood donors were provided with a blood donation certificate

card.

Our Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Damodardas Modi has taken

initiative about cleanliness and declares 2th October of every year as a

SWACHCHHATA DIWAS. To increase the awareness in the Narhe locality

about the cleanliness with the coordination of Narhe Gram Panchayat we have

taken initiative on 6th January 2015 and clean some area under Narhe Gram

Panchayat.

We have conducted online job fair at SIMCA-MCA on 30th and 31st Jan

2015 organized by Sinhgad Institute of Management and Computer

Application, Narhe, Pune in association with Milestone Jobs. This job fair’s

main focus was on Graduates, PG's, Final Year B.E., B.Sc., B.C.S., B.C.A.,

B.B.A, MCA students. In this job- fair more than 50 companies are

participating and having more than 500 vacancies. We have got huge response

around 3000+ candidates were participated in this job fair.

Report on Blood Donation

Sinhgad Institute of Management and Computer Application, had arranged a “Blood

Donation Camp” on Saturday, 3rd August 2013 with the cooperation of Smt.

KashibaiNavale General Hospital Blood Bank, Narhe, Pune

This Blood Donation Camp was inaugurated by Dr. Deokar, CEO, Narhe Technical Campus

and Dr. ShivajiMundhe Director SIMCA-MCA in the presence of faculty and students.

It began at around 9:30 am and continued up to 3 pm, with a steady stream of donors

throughout. Donors were provided with glucose water and food including biscuits, tea as

refreshment. It was nice to see overwhelmed response from the donors than expectations .
