SINGLE ROPE HYDRAULIC GRAB WITH REMOTE CONTROL

In its ongoing effort to innovate and better serve its clients and partners, QSL is proudly making available for rental 20 single rope grabs with remote control built in The Netherlands.

These grabs’ capacities vary from 10 to 15 cubic meters and can handle heavy bulk materials with a maximum density of 3.2 tons/m3.

Custom-made and designed to easily be transported by truck upon request, these grabs can be connected to any crane, whether a mobile or a ship’s crane.

Notes

In order to reduce the loss of bulk ma-terial that flows out of the grab while moving and control potential dust issues, the opening of the grab can be stopped at any time

In the event the remote-control system does not work properly, it is possible to manually open the grab by pulling a tag line.

Dropping off the open grab After dropping off the grab on the bulk product, the crane cable has to be slightly loosened so the movable pulley block can slide down. When the pulley reaches the lowest position, the block is coupled to the lower section of the grab.

Closing the grab By pulling the crane cable, both pulley blocks are pulled together. The arms of the grab being pushed down, they therefore dig into the bulk product and the grab closes.

Opening of the grabWhen the grab is in the right position (e.g. above hopper) and the bulk material is ready to be unloaded, the operator opens the grab by using a remote control. The hydraulic valve inside the grab being activated, the scoops then move into the opened position to free material.

Lifting and moving the grabWhen the grab is in a closed position, it can be moved to the unloading station such as a hopper, the ground or a pile.
