SIBIU –EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY CAPITAL is a project with a syncretised and interdisciplinary character, based on an original and innovative concept, which aims to stimulate cultural excellence, to highlight the European dimen-sion of culture produced in Sibiu and also to prove the active international role of Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu and its involvement in the local community issues. Spurred by the local, national and international partnerships of Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, our project aims to gather under the umbrella of a series of manifestation reaching various thematic events (conferences, round tables, a theological summer school, an international poetry festival, two thea-tre performances, a concert of choral music), but subordinated to a single con-cept, which reveals the quality of the city of Sibiu of European university capi-tal. Speci�cally, our project will include nine events that will involve, aside from the LBUS organizers, 25 guests from abroad (academics, theologians, cultural agents with experience in the programs “European Capital of Cultural” etc.), 25 local guests (members of the Romanian Academy, academics, poets etc.) and other 150 participants from outside Sibiu. Also, we estimate that our project will have at least 1.120 bene�ciaries.

Organized by Faculty of Theology and the Department of Protestant Theol-ogy of „Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu, the summer school will have inter-national and national guests: Arhid. Prof. Ioan I. Ică (Sibiu), Pr. Prof. Fadi Georgi (Balamand), Prof. Dr. Bin You (Beijing), Prof. Dr. Pierre-Yves Brandt (Lausanne), Pr. Prof. Jean Boboc (Paris), Conf. dr. Sebastian Moldovan (organisator - Sibiu). Pr. Prof. Nicolae Chifăr (Sibiu), Pr. Prof. Daniel Buda (Sibiu/Geneva), Prof. Dr. Stefan Tobler (organisator - Sibiu).

The aim of the event is to explore the practical problems that the present European Christian society is facing (the role of Christian education in a global context, dialogues with other religions, the challenges of new medi-cal technologies etc.) and to seek possible solutions.

Concert organized by the Choir of Theology Faculty of LBUS, conducted by prof. Sorin Dobre in collaboration with the prestigious tenor Vlad Miriţă and the famous actor Florin Coşuleţ.

„I am craving for...”the leitmotif around which the entire concert will be constructed, aims at recreating the most sublime emotions in human kind. The Choir of Theology Faculty is conducted by prof. Sorin Dobre, professor of Orthodox Theology at LBUS. Involved in the project „The long way to the Merry Cemetry” and collaborator of the author and pilgrim Peter Hurley, Sorin Dobre is the initiator of the Day Care Centre for Children, where he takes care of 35 children from the Cristian Parish, archpriestship Bran-Zarnesti.

At the age of 39, the actor Florin Coşuleţ has an extraordinary CV. Since he was 13, he played in more than 50 plays on the stage of National Theatre “Radu Stanca” of Sibiu. For the last 8 years he has also been professor at Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, where he teaches courses like The art of the Actor, Body Language Training, The Art of the Movie Star etc.

Vlad Miriţă was born on August 2nd 1981 in the city of Târgovişte. In 2009, the famous tenor Angela Gheorghiu invited him to sing together in several of her concerts (Sankt Petersburg, Torre del Lago, Cortona, Bucuresti Days 2009). In 2008, together with Nico, he represented Romania at the EUROVI-SION contest in Belgrad. He won several international prizes for music per-formances.
