SAM – SHIP BUILDING AND MACHINERY a.s. is a qualified producer
of machinery products. Main part of products are exported to the
European Union countries. The Company has three production plants
in Slovakia – Komarno, Bratislava and Liptovsky Mikulas. The company
is a holder of quality management certification and other permits which
are documenting personal and technological competence to produce
technically complicated products for several idustries. The company has
implemented SAP ERP system as a support for its activities. Priority of
all the staff in SAM – SHIPBUILDING a.s. is to provide complex quality
performance and services in time according to customers request.
Production in our Komárno plant started in 1898. The plant produces the following goods: steel hulls of ships – CASCO with a GL certificate, welded and steel components for building and road machines, such as underframes, booms and transversal beams and pylons as well as it makes components for recycling machines made for eco-logical waste treatment.

PRODUCTS
UndercarriagesProduction of undercarriages and parts for earth-
moving machines.
At present we are making undercarriages for
German and French clients. We make them in
piece production as well as in small-scale serial
production. Most of them are undercarriages
for wheeled and caterpillar excavators. Our
undercarriages are used in several well-known
brands of earth-moving machines and are used
in the whole world.
Our Bratislava plant has been dealing with the pro-duction of pressure vessels of all kinds since 1960. Our main field of activity is the production, repairs and assembly of equipment for the chemical, energy, gas and food industries, and we deal with repairs and the maintenance of high-capacity storage tanks. We also deliver and build ready-to-use steel constructions and buildings.

VesselsVessels are produced based on licence documenta-
tion, which redrowed for the local plant conditions.
Experienced shipyard team is delivering floating cra-
nes, split hopper barges, towing boats, cargo ships
for satisfied customers.
We are securing the production as from purchase
of materials up to assembling of delivered parts and
equipment with own team the surface treatment is
realized by experienced external company speciali-
zed for surface treatment.

Recycling machinesOn the basis of documentation provided by the
customer we produce various kinds of recycling
machines used for the reduction of waste. Recycling
machines play a great role in environmental protec-
tion. Our recycling machines are mainly built from
Hardox plates, which guarantee the durability of the
machines even in the harshest conditions.
We have set up cooperation with a Danish company
to produce equipment for waste treatment.
BRATISLAVA PLANT
Pressure vesselsOne of the main activities of our METALCHEM plant
in Bratislava is the production of pressure vessels. We
produce pressure vessels from carbon and austenitic
materials including surface treatment for the chemical,
petrochemical gas and energy industries. The pro-
ducts are the following: columns, heat exchangers,
molecular sieves, reactors, extractors, vacuum ves-
sels, convectors, absorbers, separators, air coolers.
The above items are produced according to approved
documents provided by the customer or according to
our own design documents approved by the custo-
mer. The certificates are issued by a representative of
a technical inspection authority (TI SR, TÜV, ASME)
including the passport of the vessel.
Industrial equipment for use in the food industry is also
produced in our Bratislava plant.
Ready-to-use constructions and products, assembly and repairsOn the basis of our customers‘ requirements we
supply ready-to-use constructions and products.
We also repair and reconstruct technological equip-
ment and that mainly for the petrochemical, chemi-
cal and energy industries.
We also deal with emergency repairs as well as with
planned reconstructions and general overhauls.
High-capacity storage tanksOur firm can also produce and deliver high-capacity
storage tanks mainly for the petrochemical industry.
We deliver our high-capacity storage tanks for
crude oil and oil products including the construction
materials. We carry out their surface treatment and
the necessary technical inspections. The tanks are
delivered in a ready-to-use state.
