SHIMBA HILLS – ADVENTURE RAINFOREST Located 30km South of Mombasa, the Shimba Hills Na9onal Reserve boasts a diverse ecosystem comprising tropical rainforest, wood and grassland which is home to over half of the rare plant species in Kenya; the Na9onal Reserve plays a crucial role in the conserva9on of plant biodiversity in the area. Day excursion TheSafaristartsat6:00am-wepickyouupfromyourhotelorresidencebythe coast and drive to the ShimbaHillsNa9onal Reserve (approx. 1 hour).Alongthewayyouwillimmediatelyno9cethebreathtakinglandscapesandchangeofscenery.Thefirstgamedrivewilltakeyoudeepintotherainforestwhereyouwillexploreyoursurroundingsandtracktheanimalslivinginthearea. Guided by a ranger, you will stop at the Sheldrick Waterfall wheremagnificent views await you and walk down to the refreshing freshwaterpool (approx. 2 hours in total – please bring drinkingwater, goodwalkingshoes,swimsuit,sunscreenandatowel)
Ataroundnoonyoucanlookforwardtoamouth-wateringfour-courselunchservedonthewoodenverandaoftheSHIMBAHILLSLODGE,overlookingthewaterhole.ThenaturalenvironmentissuchthatyoucanexpectthecuriousliXleresidentsquirrelstojoinyou.Aderlunchyouwillgoonanothergamedrive before we drive you back to your hotel or residence in the lateadernoon.
Overnight Tour Day 1: The Safari starts at 1:00 pm - we pick you up from your hotel orresidence by the coast and drive to the Shimba Hills Na9onal Reserve foryour first gamedrive.
