Performance NotesThis song, with its repetitive refrain and simple harmonies, is easy for a choir to learn. Itshould be sung smoothly and evenly, as its effect lies in intensity rather than volume. It isimportant to take full breaths at the beginning of each line of the refrain so that there is nobreak in the phrasing.

The verses are most effective when sung by a soloist, but can easily be performed by thewhole choir.

The harmonies may be sung by the tenors and sopranos, with the tenors on the middleharmony and the sopranos on the high harmony.
