Developing a Heart to Share Jesus

The sin of silence is a deadly sin.



Peter denied Jesus three times.

We deny Him by our silence.



Why do we commit the sin of silence?



Would you admit that you have beenguilty of the sin of silence? Where doesit say in the Bible that this is a sin? Jesus’command in the Great Commission is to“go … and make disciples” (Matt. 28:19,HCSB). Failure to do so is rebellion

against God.



What are some reasons you are afraid to share

your faith?



Success in witnessing is living the Christian life daily, sharing the gospel, and trusting God for the results. Success is not bringing

someone to Christ.



What does it mean to trust God for the

results?



“I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ” (Philem. 6, NIV).


Learning a Way to Share Jesus

People love to express their opinions, and many are hungry to talk about their spiritual questions.



Three simple steps for sharing Jesus without fear:

1. Five questions to determine where God is working

2. Seven verses to let the Bible speak

3. Five questions to lead to the point of decision



Five questions to determine where God is working:

1. Do you have any kind of spiritual belief?2. To you, who is Jesus?3. Do you believe there are a heaven and a hell?4. If you died right now, where would you go?5. If what you believe were not true, would

you want to know it?



Principles for using the Bible:1.Hearing. ““Faith comes from hearing the message”Faith comes from hearing the message” (Rom. 10:17, NIV).(Rom. 10:17, NIV).

“Read the verse aloud.”



Principles for using the Bible:2. Question.

Jesus asked, “How do you read it?” Jesus asked, “How do you read it?” (Luke 10:26, HCSB).(Luke 10:26, HCSB).

“What does this say to you?”



Remember: • The lost person does the reading aloud.• The lost person does the talking.• The Holy Spirit does the convincing.• God’s Word does the convicting.

Responding to the Challenge to Share Jesus

• Are you prepared to perform CPR or the Heimlich maneuver on someone in an emergency situation?

• Have you ever used one of these techniques to save someone’s life?

• What preparation is needed to share the gospel?



“I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. My speech and my proclamation were not with persuasive words of wisdom, but with a

demonstration of the Spirit and power, so that your faith might not be based on men’s wisdom

but on God’s power”

(1 Cor. 2:3-5, HCSB).

Why is it so difficult to trust in the power of the Holy Spirit and

God’s Word?



Five questions that lead to a point of decision:1. Are you a sinner?2. Do you want forgiveness for your sins?3. Do you believe Jesus died on the cross

for you and rose again?4. Are you willing to surrender your life to Christ?5. Are you ready to invite Jesus into your life

and into your heart? (Be silent and pray.)



The prayer:Heavenly Father, I have sinned against You. I want forgiveness of all my sins. I believe Jesus died on the cross for me and rose again. Father, I give You my life to do with as You wish. I want Jesus Christ to come into my life and into my heart. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Think of one person you know who you feel is the least likely to become a

Christian.

and trusting God for the results. Success is not bringing someone to

Christ.


My Personal Commitment with God to Share Jesus

•I will no longer be a silent Christian.

•I will continually look for those in whom You are working and for ways I can share Jesus with them.



•Because I understand that Christ’s resurrection power lives in me and that I lack nothing to keep my Lord’s Great Commission, I will obey that command to go and make disciples.



I will live my life in a way that actively demonstrates Philemon 6,

allowing You to fulfill Your promises in my life.
