St. Patrick’s Day is March 17th and is on a Sunday this year. We will have Mass here inthe St. Timothy Center to celebrate beginning at 12 noon with a meal of deliciouscorned beef and cabbage to follow. Philippe Joseph has again so generously donatedcorned beef for our celebration.

I will personally be cooking the meal! You and your family are most welcome to attend.There is a cost of $10 per person, and children accompanied by an adult are free!

We will also have Irish Dancers for entertainment. It is truly a great opportunity to cometogether and enjoy fellowship with friends all in the spirit of St. Patrick and Ireland!

THOUGHTS FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTORBy Bill Harmon

When I was researching the theme of this years "Friend's Club" brochure, I was almost moved to tears by what I found: “A friend is someone who makes it easy to believe in yourself.” I thought to myself, "What an awesome statement!" By becoming a part of Father Blaney’s Friends Club, people are truly empowering the Villagers to believe in themselves. We have been able to sustain ourselves over the years because all of you, our faithful supporters, have believed in the Share Foundation and embraced Father Blaney’s vision and our Villagers as friends. As I reflected on our theme this year, I recall all of the times that the Villagers have helped me believe in myself.

In February, my family was struck with a tragedy of losing my young, 32 year-old cousin. Of course, hundreds of questions came to mind, foremost, "Why did this happen?" and "Why would this young man who impacted so many, be called home so prematurely?" When I spoke with the Villagers about my loss, asking them to pray for my family and especially my aunt, one of our villagers raised his hand and looked up at me with a tear in his eye and said, “It’s okay, Bill, he now has a home with Jesus in Heaven.” I just stopped. What a statement of faith! In that moment, my friend taught me a great lesson. Trust in God, always. Those who mourn can find comfort. My friends here at Sharing Meadows taught me this.

I tell you this story because I encourage you to visit Sharing Meadows and continue your friendship with our Villagers. My friends here deserve the world, which is exactly what we try to give them every single day. Your support allows them to believe in themselves, and ultimately helps others believe in themselves as well. I can’t even begin to thank you enough for your generosity in supporting these people, whom I love dearly. Together we can give the Villagers the opportunity to change other people’s lives by their thoughtfulness and their friendship.

SPRING LUNCHEONThe days are getting longer and that’s a sure sign of spring! The Annual Spring Luncheon hosted by the Share Foundation Service League is a great way to celebrate this arrival of spring! The 28th Annual Spring Luncheon will take place on Wednesday, April 10th at the Halls of St. George in Schererville. Doors open at 10:30 AM with lunch served at noon. The Villagers have been practicing their dance routine for you and many lovely gift baskets will be given away! There will be an assortment of home-baked cookies and other goodies available for sale along with an array of items lovingly made by the Villagers of Sharing Meadows. The Service League members are hard at work planning another delightful affair and all they need is you to make it complete. ST. PATRICK’S CELEBRATIONThere’s still time to sign up for the St. Patrick’s Day Celebration at Sharing Meadows on Sunday, March 17th! The festivities begin atthe St. Timothy Center with Mass at noon followed by an Irish dinner.
