LAUNCH | THE FRESHMAN EXPERIENCE

This unique program is designed to develop the first-year High School student into a person of resilient character, strong communicator and one who will ultimately influence society and culture for Christ. Students begin their freshman year with a class trip emphasizing service, leadership, team building and spiritual reflection. Other components of the program include a required class, the creation of a virtual portfolio and a technological emphasis focused on the use of school-issued iPads.

IMPACT focuses on cooperative efforts with other schools, churches and organizations with an end result of impacting the community for Jesus Christ. Students partner with local, non-profit organizations to complete service projects throughout the school year. IMPACT students mentor younger Shannon Forest Christian School students on their commitment to service and showing Christian love to our community and beyond.

The 6th Grade Inter-generational Program BRIDGES fosters relationship building skills as each student gets to know their elder partner with a local assisted living facility. Students share Scripture, prayer and nurturing activities that culminate in a hardcover book describing their experience.

At Shannon Forest Christian School our commitment to excellence is exceeded only by our commitment to Jesus Christ. Our college preparatory program provides a strong foundation in Math, Science, History and English, as well as offerings in Biblical Studies and Fine Arts. The Shannon Forest Athletic, Service, and Student Life Programs are also an important part of the Upper School experience. Shannon Forest offers a full range of Advanced Placement courses and guidance services to assist students with the scheduling of courses, college applications, scholarship applications, standardized testing, transcripts, career exploration, and personal counseling.

Our school is committed to empowering its students with the latest technology to maximize the learning experience in the classroom and beyond. The campus has complete wireless internet access, every classroom is equipped with either a Smartboard or projector, a computer lab houses 25 student stations and many of our teachers use e-textbooks in place of traditional hard copy books. Rosetta Stone software is used to facilitate language acquisition and learning at all levels.

This ten-day, Mini-Mester Program is a period of focused study for our High School students, during which they have the opportunity to receive instruction in a wide variety of subjects. The desire of this program is to help point our students in the direction of a future occupation. The January Silva-Mester Program is also directed to support internship opportunities, provide students with a travel abroad option and offer our students the opportunity to experience unique classes that are not available at schools with a traditional academic calendar.

Shannon Forest Christian School is currently experiencing one of those moments. There is an air of excitement and anticipation in the Shannon community. Great things are happening on our campus. There are new playgrounds, a new, state-of-the-art science lab, a new football team, improved technology that includes iPads for students and classrooms filled with more excited Crusaders.

At the root, is a commitment to be a school of excellence; a leader both in academics and servant leadership. Campus improvements, technological advances and a renewed sense of purpose are, in a large part, results of investments to the Shannon Forest Annual Fund.

The Annual Fund provides resources for initiatives that tuition alone does not cover. Contributions are unrestricted, current use funds directed towards advancement and improvements at all levels across the entire school.

As contributors to the Annual Fund, parents, grandparents, alumni, friends and businesses make a direct investment in the lives of our students, and by extension, the lives of the people affected by the purpose and mission of Shannon Forest Christian School.

Our administrators, students and parents, all share a desire to see Shannon Forest accomplish something more than the expected, much more than ordinary. With your partnership, we are our way.
