Seven things every child needs to hear: I love you, I’m proud of you, I’m sorry, I forgive you, and I’m listening. This is your responsibility. You have what it takes to succeed.” - Sherrie Campbell, PhD When I chanced upon this quote the first thing that came to mind was the importance of speaking words of encouragement to our little ones. They look up to us to guide them and mould them and thus unto is the biggest responsibity of telling them that we are listening, we are watching and we will be there to guide them on the path of life. Learning all about Farming As part of our endeavor of providing children with experiences that nurture their creativity, helps them better understand the world around, enhances their fine and gross motor skills and teaches them the importance of appreciating nature; the stroller club and us planned a trip to Mr. and Mrs. Tanti’s farm in Theur. Once there parents and learners got an opportunity to pick and eat organic fruits and vegetables, go on a bullock cart ride and play with farm animals. The sun, the terrain and the mosquitoes could not deter everyone present from having a great time on the farm.

Learning all about Farming

As part of our endeavor of providing children with experiences that nurture their creativity, helps

them better understand the world around, enhances their fine and gross motor skills and teaches

them the importance of appreciating nature; the stroller club and us planned a trip to Mr. and Mrs.

Tanti’s farm in Theur. Once there parents and learners got an opportunity to pick and eat organic

fruits and vegetables, go on a bullock cart ride and play with farm animals. The sun, the terrain and

the mosquitoes could not deter everyone present from having a great time on the farm.

Navratri and Dussehra Celebrations

During the Navratri and Dusserha celebrations the whole centre reverberated with the sound of the

foot tapping dandiya music. The play area was decorated with beautiful bandhani duppatas to form a

lovely canopy and it was under this, that parents, teachers and children danced to the beats of the

season and ate some delicious savories associated with this festival.

In order to teach the children the significance of the Dussehra we also had a puppet show conducted

by our team of creative story-tellers. The children listened with rapt attention as the story unfolded!

Animal Welfare Day

Animals make the world a better place with their unconditional love. To teach children this, the

teachers had a discussion about animals and how much joy they bring into our lives. We also had

two pets visit the school and the learners totally enjoyed spending time petting them. At the end of

the day we could still hear the little ones talking about Zippo, Ms. Sabah’s cat and Suku, Vihaan’s

cute little dog!

Sports Day

Dressed in bright colors carefully selected for each grade, our 5th Annual Sports day gave our

learners an opportunity to showcase the skills they have acquired till now. A march past, well

thought of drills and a mélange of races for children and parents, the sports day offered everyone a

chance to get on the sports field and exercise their muscles.

Halloween Celebrations

Like every year Halloween was celebrated with great fervor at the centre. Little hands had made

creative pieces of art work and these were used to decorate the entire campus; beautifying each

corner of the walls! The learners came to school dressed up in their favorite characters and looked

really adorable! Our enthusiastic and ever supportive parents and grandparents took part in the

pumpkin carving activity and created incredible pieces of art that now adorn their home. A ramp walk

followed by a session where the little ones went trick-o-treating; it was surely an incredible

experience for one and all.

Diwali Celebrations

Also known as the festival of lights, Diwali symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, good over

evil and the acquisition of knowledge over ignorance. Beautiful rangolis, strings of traditional flowers

and diyas and candles adorned the school, as we celebrated Diwali before closing for the break.

Learners walked into the campus dressed in their traditional attire and paid attention while the

significance of this festival was narrated to them by their teachers while making decorating the diyas.

Our support system, the didi’s and bhaiya’s who work tirelessly were given gifts by the parents and

team members. The team members also spoke words or appreciation as well as planned games for

them! As part of our women empowerment program the didi’s also put up stalls where they sold

Diwali savories and other handmade products. It was certainly a very exciting and memorable day!
