• Newer versions of the Atlassian tools provide:

─ New/improved features─ Bug fixes─ Improved user interface/functionality─ Improved collaboration

Atlassian Upgrades: Prep

• Before upgrading to a new version of an Atlassian Tool:

─ Preform a database backup─ Preform a XML backup─ Make a copy of the Home directory─ Make a copy of specific config files

(ex: server.xml, web.xml, etc.)─ Notify users of upcoming downtime

• Read ALL release notes

─ Check for plug-in compatability• Follow steps completely

• Perform upgrade during down time

• Test functionality after completion
