What are Serious Games?

A serious game is a game designed for a primarypurpose other than pure entertainment

Various Names: Edutainment, Game-based Learning,Serious Games, eGames, Exergaming,Advertainment, Militainment, Persuasive Games

Purpose: Retention, realism, and relevancy

Provides motivation through entertainment

and interaction

Common Example: Microsoft’s Flight Simulator
