High Priestess Happy Valentine's Day to all of you Sweethearts! I am sending hugs to everyone in Sphinx Court. Special thanks to Lady Jean Glover for organizing the wonderful LOS dessert table at the party
the night before the Pote's Ball. Lady Jean managed to showcase spectacular treats and decorated the table very eloquently. LOS won $100 for the best decorated table and donated the money to the El Zaribah Transpor-tation Fund.
Many thank yous to Director Staff, Patrol and Ceremonial Pageantry for the terrific OV's in January. Each one was very special to me. It looks as if February will be a very busy month for all of us. I wish you all a safe, happy and healthy month in February. February brings the Travel Fund picnic on the 23rd. Call the Clowns or Greeters for tickets. Remember to get your tickets for the Opportunity to own $500 cash and the fabulous Mys-tery Dinner Theater held March 23rd. Limited tickets.
Please come to the stated meeting Feb 25th. We will be having Election of new Officers. Come and support. You Ladies have made many Memories for me, remember to make some for yourselves.

Associate Princess I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I did because my son was home from Afghanistan and I was able to visit with him over New Year’s. As of our January stated meeting, I need just about $1,000 to reach my $5,000 goal for my special project:
orthotics and prosthetics. I am asking for special project donations for the next 2 court meetings. Please be sure to attend our February court meeting for election of officers for next year and the future of
Sphinx Court.

First Ceremonial Lady Happy New Year! The January Membership Tea was a success. We had five prospective members attend and all applied for membership. So we should have 6 or 7 new candidates for the March Cere-monial. They are delightful ladies and will be an asset to our Court. Thank you to the Units and mem-
bers that provided the food and attended. We had a lot of fun meeting and chatting with the ladies. Remember, once they are initiated, we must get these ladies involved, and they want to be active.

Did you Know… At the Lexington Shrine Hospital, the children had to travel down a very long gray hallway on their way to
surgery. Thanks to the Ladies Oriental Shrine, and an outstanding artist with a heart of gold, this hallway has been transformed. In 2000, ladies from all over the United States and Canada came together to dedicate the mural along this long hallway where at the end of the hall, the children enter the surgical ward through the “Big Top” doorway thus taking some of the fear and anxiety felt by a small child entering the unknown.

Don't forget the Hobos in the Park Picnic on Saturday, February 23, from 11- 3. It is at the McCormick RR Park located at 7301 E Indian Bend Road in Scottsdale. Prices for the tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children under 12. Contact Iris Colbert for tickets.
Please keep all those who are having difficulties in your thoughts and prayers.

Ceremonial Pageantry We had such a great time at the Official Visit of our High Priestess, Lady Lynn. Our dinner was delicious.
Thanks to Dorothy for the soup and to Pat and Danielle Stanton for the other dishes. Our next ceremonial will be at our March 25th Stated Meeting. Our High Priestess has excused us from deco-
rating the stage and for that we are so very thankful. Our February meeting will be on the 27th at 5:30. It will be election of officers and voting on achange to our
Rules and Regulations, so please try to attend.

Director Staff The Director Staff donated approximately 55 stuffed animals to the Red Cross as our charity this year. We voted to not do the Diablo Ball Park. We had a great 12 years doing the games with a lot of fun and hard
work. Thanks to all who helped make this project a big success.

Sphinx Patrol Greetings from Sphinx Patrol – and Happy 2013 to one and all! It was a very busy holiday season and I, for
one, am glad to be back into the swing of things. Our OV with Lady Lynn Hatch, HP, was great and we were fortunate to have three more wonderful ladies join
the Patrol at that meeting. Now we’re looking forward to being visited by our newest members. Patrol is FUN and we’d love to share it with you.
Our membership tea was wonderful – thanks to Lady Mimi! Lots of stuff is being planned for the near future -- the Picnic at the Railroad Park should be a blast and of course, we have elections in February.
So in the meantime, stay well, safe, happy and keep working for the kids!
Lady Linda DuBois, PHP, Captain
Greeters Unit The Greeters will not be having another meeting until after our Court Installation. We wish everyone good
health and happiness in this new year.
