Princess Happy Fall to y 'all, Can you believe that we are in
October already? WAOUM is around the corner for us. There is still
time to book flights and rooms. Oregon sure looks good to me with the cooler weather. Many Ladies are attending and we will have a terrific time. Be pre-pared to laugh!
For those of you going, there is a free shuttle ser-vice to and from the airport. Just call the hotel when you land. (503) 283-4468. Don't forget your bathing suit and walking shoes. Dues card and Fez is a must bring!
FYI, I will be out of Arizona for most of October so please call another Officer of the Court if you have a question. Also, look at the dates of events for Octo-
ber and plan on attending. If you have not been to Court or other functions for awhile, please know that we miss you.
The correct telephone number for the Red Lion Hotel in Portland is (503) 283-4468.

High Priestess It seems as if September and October pass too quickly and all of a sudden, we are right into the holiday season! We have many things to
do this fall. Our biggest project is the current Ways & Means project, which is the opportunity to own $500 in cash! We need to continue selling opportunities and if you can sell to friends, family and to yourself; that would be fantastic! Call Barbara Hineman for information. We can make a lot of progress by No-vember 19th. Also, we have those great cookbooks (by LOS) that you can own for $15.00. We will have our fall ceremonial on November 19th, as well. If you have someone that wishes to join our great organization, submit her petition prior to our October 24th meeting. Please note that we will have Ceremonial practice on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at 2pm. Be there or be square if you are an officer, an aide, or in the Patrol. The auditorium will be set up on Friday, November 18th for the Ceremonial on Sat-urday morning at 8am. Please note also that our December meeting is on December 12th.

Associate Princess Will fall ever arrive in Arizona? I‘m a little tired of this heat; I‘m like a shut-in who never gets out of the house. It‘s time to start our year and collect items
for our kids. I received a box of paper hand puppets from Lady Trudy, she had them made for the children at the clinic, and they‘re really cute. Orthopedic Ten-nis Shoes is what the Salt Lake City hospital has re-quested. Wouldn‘t it be great if our court could send funds for one hundred pairs or more.
If this isn‘t something you‘d like to participate in, underwear for both boys and girls is always appreci-ated. If you don‘t like to go shopping monetary dona-tions are always welcomed.
I‘m thinking about the Christmas holidays already, but haven‘t decided whether gift cards would be the best of the children, then they could purchase what they would like.
Thank you all for the items you donated before the heat arrived. I sent several boxes to LA hospital PHP Sandy Beneke took three boxes with her and I shipped two up to Salt Lake.
Ladies have a great fall and we‘ll see you around Thanksgiving. We make many children happy with all we donate to the hospitals.

Thanks too for all of the help at the CornFest. We are excited to announce that we have a brand

Our love and prayers go to Lady Trudy and her husband. Here‘s hoping he‘s feeling better really soon.

First Ceremonial Lady Welcome back everyone! We had a great first meeting after a longgggg hotttt summer!
Just got back from Savannah last night and I have to say I was happy to get home to cooler Phoe-nix. The humidity was stifling!
Please remember the Membership Tea, on Sunday, October 9th, from 2-4 Pm in the Fiesta Room at El Zaribah. I have sent out over 50 invitations to indi-viduals & 3 invitations to Job‘s Daughters Bethels. Thank you for all the names. I am looking forward to a wonderful turn out.
I hope a lot of you can go to our Western Area Unit Meet. They're always fun!

great fall meal for our October Court dinner, which will be Chicken pasta, salad, veggies and of course a wonderful dessert. Please let me know if you want to remain on the standing list. If you are on the standing list and cannot come, please call me or Sandi Beneke. If you want to be on the standing list and are not yet, please call. I will be at Western in Portland the week before the October meeting, so please call Sandi Beneke, and she can answer your questions.

Clowns Red noses are flashing all over town. Do you have
one? We entertained at a Patriot‘s Day event and were
among those caught on film. The clowns are now on You Tube and sweeping the nation athttp://youtu.be/Xgw-s7y9WAk. Men and women in uniform, skydivers and clowns, what a combination!
The Shrine Circus is always a highlight of the Clown Year A great concentration of children and fun, paint and balloons. We are happy to be a part of the long standing event. And, we are gathering for another event we have been part of for over 20 years, the Garrett Memorial Rodeo on November 5th at the Western Saddle Club. One year we were even photographed riding a bull. We not only create fun but we are fun loving and courageous.
The Clown Official Visit is on October 13th at 7:00 beginning with dinner at the Red Fez room at 5:30. All are welcome to share a spooky good time and holiday attire is encouraged. We have scheduled our Christmas Party for December 10th.
The Clown Unit is off to another adventurous year of growth and polishing our craft. Who knew there were classes on ‗fun‘? When was the last time you played ‗dress up‘ or got to play in a make-up case? Ooooohhhhh…………..that is just too long.
Our thoughts are with those in need and know that you are held close in our hearts.
Lady Pam Wade Vice Pres. Sphinx Patrol
The Patrol has four members going to WAOUM so we will do a walk-on.
We are looking for new members! Our drill is not difficult and we really do have a good time being to-gether!!
We hope that everyone is enjoying the cooler weather. Good Thoughts and Well Wishes to all who need cheering up.
Lady Renate Sweat Captain
Greeters The Greeters will be meeting at Dillon's Restaurant
at I 101 and Thunderbird until further notice. The meetings will start at 11 am, with lunch to fol-low. However, the Christmas Luncheon will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2011, at 11:00 am, no meeting, so you may bring guests. Reservations are a must!
Too many of our Greeter members are ill or have illnesses in their family. Our continued prayers are going out to them, and to the members of our Court who are having problems, to quote Tiny Tim - May God bless us, every one.
Lady Iris Colbert Pres.
Director Staff Ladies, this year seems to be going by really fast. WAOUM is right around the corner. Don‘t forget
your dues cards and Fez if you are going. It looks like we have about 19 Director Staff and a few out of the other units going. Nice turn out. Don‘t forget to pack your rain gear; it might be raining cats and dogs!
Please pick up your can coolies to sell. They really turned out nice, thanks Liz.

Sphinx Court Travel Fund Committee Now that our first meeting is over after the long hot sum-mer, it is time to get to work and sell tickets for the ―Shriner‘s Got Talent and Steak Fry‖ on Jan 7, 2012. So ladies let‘s start selling tickets now. Will have job descrip-tions and positions at our next meeting and don‘t forget about the donations from the clubs and units. I passed out tickets and flyers to the club and unit leaders at our last Court Meeting, so everyone will know time, date, menu and price for this wonderful event. I hope everyone is ready to get busy now that fall is here and it has cooled off. Again I want to thank everyone for helping on the Computer Lanfest Party in June. Our prayers to out to those who have been sick, or who have lost love ones. If you have any questions or sugges-tions for the ―Shriner‘s Got Talent and Steak Fry‖ please feel free to call me.
