Have you joined us before in the Bible Studies led by Fr. Jim? It is not too late to join us. This fall starting September, 25 he will lead us through the Gospel of John. There is 3 opportunities each week to attend, Monday’s in Duncan 6:30 PM (come for the 5:30 Mass and stay for the study!), Tuesdays at St. James in Forest City at 6:30 (again come for the 5:30 Mass and stay for the study!), and Thursdays at St. Boniface in Garner at 1:00 pm. You only need to attend one session each week. This is a 10 week program with a few session off for Holy and Holidays. See you there!

This weekend we remember the 16th anniversary of the events on

September 11, 2001. Let’s pray this weekend to end all death and violence

from radical Islamic terrorism and bring to fulfillment the peace St. Francis

sought ten centuries ago between Christianity and the Islamic religion.

The Archangels Catholic Cluster has several things happening in the next

few weeks. In this column, I want to mention four.

Catechical Sunday (September 16-17): We will be blessing all catechists,

parents, and faith formation parishioners at all weekend Mases.

Hurricane Harvey Relief Collection: On that same weekend, September 17-18,

there will be a second collection after communion to send to the victims of

Hurricane Harvey. Make checks payable to the Archdiocese of Dubuque.

Gospel of John Bible Study: Begins the week of September 25. See note in

this bulletin for more information.

Unbound Missionary: Each year I select a “worthy mission.” Last year it was

“Food for the Poor”. This year it is Unbound, more information about it will

appear in future bulletins. A missionary will be in the three northern parishes

on the weekend of October 7-8, then in the southern parishes in January

2018.

decision, RCIA is for you!!

RCIA sessions - (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) will be held weekly, beginning

Wednesday, September 13, 2017 for the Archangel Catholic Cluster. It will be held at

the St, Patrick’s Church in Britt beginning at 6:30 PM. An open heart is the only cost!
