There will be enhanced cleaning for high touch surfaces. We are asking participants to assist with cleaning when participating in fitness classes or use of the fitness center by cleaning all equipment before and after use. There will be additional disinfecting of fitness equipment by staff. We also ask members to clean objects they touch and wipe down tables before and after use (such as pool sticks and Great Room tables) so they are immediately available for the next user. Additional cleaning and disinfecting is also completed by staff. We have made many changes to make surfaces touchless including installing touchless sanitizer stations, hand soap dispensers, toilets, sinks, paper towels and water bottle filling stations. We will not be accepting donations of any kind until at least November. New Additions to our MSC Staff

If you smell something good coming out of our kitchen it’s likely Terry Rogers, our Kitchen Coordinator has his hands in it, literally! This Chagrin

Falls/Shaker Hts. native attended Hocking College Culinary School. His cooking talents have placed him as head chef at local businesses, country clubs, and catering companies. Currently, he is Personal Chef to several families in the area. Terry and his three adult sons enjoy watching sports, especially football. He has an antique muscle car he enjoys taking to local car shows in his free time.

We welcome Dave Ritondaro to our custodial staff. He is retiring from his position in maintenance at Lake Metroparks. His father and grandfather were US Navy Seabees Plumbers and Dave followed in their footsteps with active duty during Vitanam, in Spain and Diego Garcia, Guam. He worked 27 years for Osborn Mfg until retiring for the first time, then went to school for carpentry and then taught carpentry. His new favorite hobby is antiqing online auctions, purchasing them and then restoring to their original beauty.

Meet Andrea Knauf-Cartee, Front Desk Office Staff.Born and raised in Mentor, she has also raised her two daughters here, both recent college graduates. Andrea is a certified Zumba instructor and enjoys all physical activities, including walking/running her dog. If Andrea looks familiar to many of you it’s because she has been the welcoming face and manager at Pickle Bills in Grand River for nearly 20 years. Fun fact: Andrea’s cousin is the drummer of Lynrd Skynrd.

Jerry Hammond joined our Custodial Staff in July. Jerry has lived in Willoughby and Mentor most of his life. As a young man Jerry joined the Marines before the start of the Vietnam War and held the rank L/CPL of Marine Air. Shortly after his tour of duty he married (50 years in September) his wife Susan and raised two children. Before retirement Jerry worked at Cleveland Crane and NASA and taught Tai Kwan Do for 30 years. Jerry hikes and is an avid fisherman and visits the local inland lakes as often as he can.

Say hello to Stacie Rae Capp at the Front Desk. She grew up in Ashtabula Harbor and has strong ties to the Ashtabula area where she is on the Board of Directors of the Finnish Heritage Association. Stacie and her husband, Mike are furry parents to two Chocolate Labs and enjoy spending time with their family and friends when they are not working hard to renovate their recently purchased century home.

Pat Price is not a new face to the City of Mentor. Pre-Covid she spent four years at the Fire Department and will now be assisting our members at the Senior Center. Helping comes naturally to Pat as her work background has always been in Social Services in one form or another. She is from Willoughby and is a South High graduate. Pat raised three children and now has three grandchildren. Some of her favorite pastimes are tending the yard and garden and relaxing with a good book.
