El papel del clima en la demanda del turismo. El punto de vista de la región emisora Impartido por Juan Luis Eugenio Resumen: El debate en torno al cambio climático y su impacto potencial sobre la economía, ha despertado el interés por comprender mejor el papel del clima en la demanda de turismo. A su vez, la coyuntura actual pone de manifiesto la disponibilidad a pagar de los europeos por hacer turismo en situaciones de ajuste presupuestario. En la presentación está previsto hacer un breve repaso al tratamiento del clima en la literatura, entendiendo las dificultades y los progresos que se han ido realizando al respecto. Con más profundidad se trata el papel del clima en las regiones emisoras. En concreto, se muestra la heterogeneidad que existe entre las regiones europeas en cuanto a sus preferencias por viajar. Estas preferencias están condicionadas por su capacidad de pago y por su clima. Se demuestra cómo ante la crisis actual, la sensibilidad a hacer recortes presupuestarios es muy variante y depende de las expectativas sobre el crecimiento económico y del clima en el lugar de origen.
