Seminar on Development of Homestays in Gujarat –19th Sept. The second edition of ‘Paryatan Parv’, is being held across the

country from September 16th to 27th 2018. Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited (TCGL) organized a one

day seminar on ‘Development of Homestays in Gujarat’ on 19th

September 2018, at Radisson Hotel, Gandhidham, Kutch. The programme was attended by local leaders, Governments

officials, homestay owners of the Kutch Region, Hotel associationmembers and Tour & Travel operators.

P.Sriram Mr. Sriram, an ex senior tourist officer, Gujarat tourism addressed the audience on Tourism in Gujarat. He spoke on contribution of Tourism sector in India and specifically in Gujarat. He presented the various tourist destinations present in Gujarat and Particularly in Kutch district of state.

Utsav Patel Mr, Utsav from Atharva Planning and Research centre presented the Homestay Policy in Gujarat and addressed the audience on various efforts by Gujarat tourism to spread the awareness regarding the policy and all the training programmes conducted by the department in this direction. He also explained the application process under the policy and assistance for the same.

Shri Babubhai Agrawal (Chief Guest)

Babubhai Agrawal addressed the audience regarding various efforts of Gujarat Tourism in developing Standard infrastructure to promote Tourism in Kutch. Also in facilitating Hotels and Restaurant facilities

Shri Keshubhai Patel Keshubhai, director of Gujarat Tourism, Kutch, addressed the audience and spoke regarding various initiatives of Gujarat Tourism particularly in Kutch district, future planning and development. He encouraged the participants to take benefit of Homestay Policy and help the department to increase its effort by contributing in development.

Shri Kanjibhai Bhadiya Kanjibhai is president of Gandhidham Nagarpalika. Addressing the local people he focused his speech on learning experiences from Kutch and creating tourism circuit that will include Gandhidham and will help in promoting tourism here.

All three homestay owners shared their experience of homestay and all of them are running homestay successfully in Kutch.
