Calendar Term 4

Swimming commences at Russell Island swimming pool Prep to Year 2 – to meet at Macleay Island Jetty by 8.45am and will return to school – pick up from school 2.45pm. Year 3 and 4 – during school time – pick up from school 2.45pm. Year 5 and 6 – ferry will be at 3.03pm Lamb Island. Students will arrive at Macleay Island Jetty at 3.08pm. If you are collecting your child please ensure you are there on time.

Dear Parents, Carers and Community Members, The swimming program is finally underway. All students will have access to 9 swimming lessons this term and in term 1 2020 the program will continue. Two swimming platforms have been purchased to ensure students can stand in the pool with their head above the water line. These platforms were purchased at a total cost of $3056.90. Thank you to the P&C association for their willingness to meet 50% of the total cost. All children are expected to participate in the swimming program as this is part of the school curriculum and is funded by the Department of Education. The setting up of the swimming program has been a very time consuming logistical exercise. I would like to acknowledge the many hours Mia Fazikas and Amanda Winchester have spent on the timetabling of this program as well as the organisation of transport. We welcome Sally O’Leary to Macleay Island State School replacing Susan Mullins on the year 3 class. Sally has been transferred to Macleay Island State School. Tracey Hodge our school chaplain will be working with us from Monday through to Thursday for the rest of this term. Yours sincerely

Swimming Starts Term 4

Prep to Year 6 Swimming has commenced and will be held every Tuesday until 3 December 2019

Prep, Year 1 and 2 need to be at Macleay Island jetty by 8.45am – will return during school hours – pick up usual time 2.45pm

Year 3 and 4 will go and return during school hours – pick up usual time 2.45pm Year 5 and 6 students to be collected from Macleay Island Jetty at 3.08pm.
