Dear Parents/Carers,
Have you downloaded our Skoolbag App? It is one of the easiest ways to stay up-to-date with school events, last minute notices, newsletters and all school communications. I strongly encourage all of our parents/carers and school community members to download this free app.
Please remember that our school website (www.seftoninf-p.schools.nsw.edu.au) is also another important place to keep informed of school happenings. Our next Parents and Friends association meeting will be held on Wednesday 27 November in the school library from 9am. All parents and local community members are welcome to attend this meeting to discuss school programs, events and happenings, as well as future plans for Sefton Infants School. This will be our last P&F meeting for 2019 and a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the year, as well as plan for 2020. I hope to see you there.
P&F Meeting Wednesday 27 November 9am
Kind regards, Sharna Labbe

Community Service Award
Commendations to Ella from 2 Purple for her 2019 Community Service Award. This
special award, initiated by Jason Clare (MP), recognises students who help make their
school a better place to learn and our community a better place in which to live. Each
school in the local area nominates one student who contributes positively to the school
community. The award ceremony will take place this week at Bankstown Sports Club
with Jason Clare (MP). Ella was proudly nominated by the staff of Sefton Infants School as
the well-deserved recipient of this special Community Service Award for 2019.
Ella is a very responsible, reliable and respectful member of the Sefton Infants School community. Ella’s outstanding behaviour and leadership qualities make her an exemplary role model for the young students at our infants’ school. She often takes it upon herself to assist students in need of support or she initiates peer activities by leading and modelling sensitivity and cooperative play with students from diverse backgrounds. Ella’s wonderful offers of help also extend to her teachers as she volunteers with classroom organisation tasks, as well as the organisation of playground equipment for her schoolmates. Ella is a quiet achiever. She contributes consistently and actively in all curriculum areas and school events, yet she remains very modest and humble in regards to her excellent contributions. Ella is certainly a fine asset to the Sefton Infants School community. She is to be commended for her outstanding citizenship.

Our special cupcake treats donated by our Kindergarten friends were a success too. Take a look at our great photos here and on our website. Thank you for your great support of this fun event.

K-2 Movie Excursion
To celebrate the end of a successful school year, our K-2 students will be going on an
excursion to Bankstown Hoyts Cinema on Friday 13 December to see the movie, The
Queen’s Corgi. This animated feature film is about one of the queen’s beloved pet dogs
that gets lost from the palace. He must make new friends and embrace new adventures
to find his way back home to the palace. The film also offers our students an opportunity
to view and respond to an animated text to work as part of their English studies.
Our students will be travelling to and from the cinema by train. Sefton Infants School has
booked the entire cinema for this experience. We will be eating morning tea and lunch at
Paul Keating Park, which is adjacent to the cinema complex. A permission note for this
exciting excursion will be sent home soon.
