Bymeasuringverysmalltemperaturedifferenceswithinthescene, invisibleenergypatternsareconvertedbyourthermalimagersintoclear,visibleimagesthatthehumaneyecan’talwayssee.Sincetheenergywesenseisnotimpactedbyvisiblelight,ourinfraredthermalimagerscanbeusedinbothdaylightandnightconditionsandacrosslongdistances.

TheCompactSeries

SeekcurrentlymakesthreedifferentCompactcamerasthateachcomeinAndroidandiPhoneplatforms.Thesethreedifferentcameraseachhaveparticularusesandbenefitsasexpressedbytheirfeatureset.Eachoftheplatforms,AndroidoriPhonerequiresa freeapp toperform. Thermal imaging provides useful insight into the detection of energy loss in homes, commercial buildings, and industrialfacilities.Inspectionwiththermalimagingdetectsenergylosscausedbyairleaks,missingordamagedinsulation,inefficientHVACsystems,andpoorconstruction.

Findingandassessingtheseproblemsrequiresathermalimagertoidentifyhotandcoldspots.SeekThermalCompactthermalimagingcamerasenablecontractorstoconductbuildingandhomeinspectionsquicklyandaccurately,withouttheneedtocrawlthroughatticsandcrawlspacesorpunchholesinwallstofindairleaks,thermalbypasses,andinsulationgaps.

Quicktoconnectanddetect,thesmartphoneattachmentisdesignedtoworkwithbothiPhoneandAndroidtopmodels.Thisdeviceisportableandeasytopackawayforanyoccasion.Itcombinespowerfulthermalinsightwitha206x156sensor,a36-degreewidefieldofview,andrunsoffthelowenergyfromyoursmartphone.Yoursmartphonedisplaymakesthisasvisualandlargeasyoursmartphoneortablet.SeekCompactusesadvancedinfraredtechnologytoletyouseethermalimagesindayornight–andcomeswithitsownwaterproofcarrycase.Itsdetectiondistancecanshortenintoafewinchesorasfaras1,000ft.

UsingtheSeekThermalApp(s)CameraConnection

TheAppleiPhoneoriPadoriTouchrequiresacamerawithaLightningconnector.Pushthebottomofthecamerawhileinsertingthemaleconnector.Itshouldsnapintoplace.Itcanbeinstalledwiththecamerafacingawayfromthesmartphonedisplay(normal)orreversedinaselfieposition.TheappshouldstillworkexceptfortheThermal+option,whichwouldhavethenativecamerafacingintheoppositedirection.

TheAndroidplatformofcameracanonlybeinstalledinonedirectionortheother,anditdependsontheparticularbrandandmodelofsmartphoneortabletastowhetherincanbeinstalledinanormalfacingdirectionorselfie.Adaptors1orcablesareavailabletobeabletoturnthecamerasinthosesmartphoneswheretheyarestuckintheselfieposition.

FirmwareUpdates

Fromtimetotime,updatestotheSeekThermalmobileapp(bothplatforms)willbereleased,aswellasfirmwareupdatesforthe Seek Compact imager. If amobile app update includes a firmware update for the imager, your imager will updateautomaticallythenexttimeyouconnecttoyourmobiledeviceandruntheapp.

IfforsomereasonyourmobiledeviceisrunninganolderversionoftheSeekThermalapp,andyouconnectanimagerrunninganewerfirmwarethatisnotcompatible,yourappwillautomaticallyupdatetheimagertomatch.ThenexttimeyouconnectyourimagertoadevicerunningthecurrentSeekThermalapp,itwillautomaticallyupdatebacktothematchingversion.

TheprotectivecasethatcomeswithyourSeekThermalcameracanbedifficulttoopenifyouhaven'topeneditbefore.Thelatchistightforareason,andthatreasonisthatwewantthecasetobewaterresistantforprotection.

RegistrationIn order to keep track ofwhereour cameras are beingused, and to support thewarranty, each camera causes theapp to access aRegistrationscreenONLYthefirsttimethatitisused.Theinformationthatisaccessedduringregistrationbesidesnameandemailistheserialnumberofthecamera,thetypeofsmartphonethatitisbeingusedonandthelocation.Afterthecameraisregistered,thescreenisnolongerinvoked.Toavoidregistration,“skip”canbetapped.

LocalizationBothappscurrentlysupporttheautomaticlanguagelocalizationfeatureofiOSandAndroid.Theuser,wishingtochangethelanguageusedbyhis/hersmartphonewouldproceedtoSettingsandselectthelanguage(notnecessarilythelocation)thatisdesired.Alloftheappsthatsupportthelanguagechosenwillchangetheirverbiage,giventhatitisoneofthelanguagesthatthey support.
