Your benefits
Plastics can do more for Ship Building and OffshoreSeaCor™ USCG- and ABS-approved corrosion-free plastic piping
The SeaCor corrosion-free piping system, besides ensuring a long service life of the non-essential piping
systems, adds a long list of additional benefits:
• SeaCor is approved by USCG, ABS, Transport Canada; NSF Certified, IMO and FTP Code compliant.
• Material weight savings drastically reduces the total deck weight.
• Faster, safer and secure installation, eliminating the need for hot work certificates.
• Plastic prefabrication capabilities radically reduce installation time on board.
• Enables installations with a minimum amount of tools especially in small or in difficult access areas.
• Service and maintenance costs are reduced significantly due to speed of installation portability and easy
handling.
Vessels are not only floating cities, but are also essential for the world's economy. Preventing corrosion is more important here than anywhere else.
With SeaCor from GF Piping Systems, corrosion is no longer an issue. Cost-effective and high-quality, plastics are your right choice.
We will help you increase production by reducing maintenance time and overall operational cost.
Offshore drilling rigs are exposed to the forces of nature day and night. Wind, rain and saltwater can be very harsh on structures, housing and supply lines.
The pipelines for hot and cold water, effluent and greywater, rain catchment and chemical distribution are particularly affected, internally and externally, by corrosion as well as incrustation.
The SeaCor solution from GF Piping Systems warrants the safe conveyance of drinking water and other process fluids — without altering their quality in the least.

Corrosion-free piping systems. This
guarantees the long service life of
your systems. You save dry-dock
time. You save service costs. You
save maintenance costs. All in all, you
are in business quick er. That is your
benefit.
You also save on weight. Plastic piping
systems weigh approximately 5 times
less than metal — a savings of several
tons per ship. This in turn allows for
more freight, more passengers and
therefore more profit.
Besides, installation is much faster.
SeaCor offers the possibility of pre-
fabrication, which radically reduces
installation time on board. SeaCor
enables installations with a small
number of tools in a small amount of
space. Technical specialists are not
always required. Another significant
benefit.
The USCG and ABS have approved
SeaCor™ and SeaDrain™ Plus for
marine applications where Low Flame
Spread and Smoke/Toxicity standards
are required: the only plastic piping
systems to earn these approvals.

SeaCor piping system is produced in the United States from a high performance polymer with unique physical properties desirable for piping applications used in corrosive marine environments. It is simultaneously light, flexible, tough, and exceptionally corrosion-resistant. SeaCor has improved thermal properties, impact resistance, and fire performance properties compared to alternate plastics. SeaCor is a pressure-rated system that is highly resistant to acids, alkalis, alcohols, and many other corrosive materials. Seacor's ability to withstand pressure varies with pipe diameter, wall thickness, and temperature. For pressure applications, it is recommended for temperatures as high as 200°F (93°C) when appropriate temperature de-rating factors are applied.
SeaCor piping system is available in iron pipe size (IPS) Schedule 80 dimensions and can handle more than three-fourths of the temperature/pressure requirements of today’s typical applications. It is particularly suited for non-essential marine and offshore applications, including fresh water, hot and cold potable water, seawater, drains, vents, black and grey water, water treatment, and vacuum applications. SeaCor will not rust, scale, pit or corrode, nor are they subject to electrolysis, assuring many years of leak-free, maintenance-free service.

What is SeaCor?
SeaCor is a High Performance Polymer containing proprietary compounds that allow the material to have lower flame spread
and smoke toxicity characteristics than other plastic piping systems available.
How is it assembled?
SeaCor is a solvent welded system utilizing a specially formulated primer and cement. We have incorporated optical bright-
eners in our SeaCor formulation that can be viewed with a UV light as a means of inspecting the system to ensure the proper
solvent cement* was used for joining that can be critical in marine applications; however, no special tooling is required for its
installation.
*SeaCor solvent cement has improved chemical resistance over conventional cements (chlorine resistance)
Can the system be used in the engine room?
Yes, SeaCor can be installed in
Category "A" machinery spaces for
"non essential" services and/or appli-
cations as approved by the USCG.
Can the system be installed in accom-
modation areas?
SeaCor is approved for installation in
concealed spaces in accommodation,
service, and control areas, and need
not meet the additional requirement of
46 CFR 56.60-25 (a) (2) which requires
the installation of smoke detectors.
How do we connect SeaCor into exist-
ing systems?
SeaCor is the same size as steel pipe;
connection methods include NPT and
150# flanges, also specialized Norma,
Waga, or similar approved combina-
tion grip couplings allow SeaCor to be
directly connected to IPS size metallic
pipe.
Is SeaCor fully approved by the USCG?
Yes, SeaCor is approved for use in
non-essential shipboard systems. The
USCG recognizes the IMO A753 (18)
Part 2 Low Smoke and Toxicity and
Part 5 Low Flame Spread as its test
criteria for plastics. SeaCor meets
these requirements and is approved
for applications in systems that do
not need fire endurance require-
ments under USCG Approval Number
164.141/36/0 dated December 30, 2011.

SeaCor™ Primer and CementCreated specifically for the marine application
SeaCor piping systems are joined in the field via the proven two-step primer and
cement solvent welding process — providing a quick, strong, leak-tight seal.
SeaCor primer is an industrial grade, low VOC emission, non-bodied, fast-acting,
primer. The strong, aggressive action of SeaCor primer rapidly softens and dis-
solves the joining surfaces of SeaCor pipe and fittings. The benefit of this priming
action is especially noticeable on parts being joined together in cold weather.
SeaCor solvent cement is especially formulated for marine applications using
SeaCor piping systems, including applications requiring chemical resistance to
caustics such as hypochlorite solutions, mineral acids, aggressive water and
aqueous salt solutions. SeaCor solvent cement is an industrial grade, low VOC
emission, heavy-bodied, high-strength, solvent cement. This specialty solvent
cement is orange in color and specifically formulated for use with USCG approved
SeaCor piping systems.
SeaCor primer and solvent cement contain an optical brightener (OB) visible under
black light. This enables easy field inspection of solvent-welded assemblies to
ensure proper joining technology was used.
No. 164.141/36/0
Does SeaCor have ABS or other approval?
Yes, SeaCor has ABS Product Design Approval #08-HS242939B-5-PDA issued on June 7, 2012. SeaCor, together with
SeaDrain Plus, are the only thermoplastic piping systems in the world approved by ABS to meet Transport Canada standards
for marine installations in Canada.
What systems can SeaCor be installed in?
SeaCor can be used in Class III "Non-Essential Systems" that do not require a fire endurance. (See applications on next page
for full details.)
Are there any other competitive mate-
rials that meet these standards?
There is no other commercially avail-
able thermoplastic piping system that
meets the USCG and Transport Canada
requirements.
Can this product be substituted by any
other thermoplastic piping system?
No, as of today, SeaCor and
SeaDrain Plus from GF Piping Systems
are the only thermoplastic piping
systems certified by a third party to
meet IMO A753 requirements for Low
Flame Spread and Low Smoke and
Toxicity.
