Our pace is set by human beings like ourselves. Those who keep step feel the pace to be natural. Progress is geared to every man’s gait. Being dragged along is where the strain comes in. Keeping step is keeping fit.

CHILI IN JONES AMERICA The Okie “A” Model A Club invited the Sooner Model A’s and the Early V8 Club to their annual chili luncheon in Jones, Oklahoma on February 10

th. The old Model A was all tuned up, full of fuel

and ready to make its first outing for 2020. The weather cooperated and many of us made the trip in our A’s. The luncheon was held at the Independent Order of Odd Fellows meeting hall, which was beauti-fully decorated with hearts, flowers, banners, and candied vases. The candied vases were creat-ed by a church group in Jones and they added a touch of Valentine magic to the lunch. The lunch was delicious. We had many crock pots full of chili, along with all the fixings, and lots of desserts. We all made new Model A friends. We were also missing Dale Haworth. May he rest in Peace. We played the bingo shortcut game and it was a lot of fun. We plan on returning to the annual event next year and hope more members of the three Model A clubs can find a way to join us.

    Lunch at Scottie’s Deli

The Mystery Lunch and Drive for February featured lunch at Scottie’s Deli, situated next to the restored Tower Theatre in the heart of Oklahoma City’s Uptown 23rd Street district. Scotties Deli opened in 2017, the same year the Tower Theater was restored. Scottie’s goal is to honor the history and tradition of Jewish, Italian and German delicatessens while serving delicious food. What could be better than good food in the company of good people?

Spring Tour to Coffeyville, KS May 14 - 17, 2020

In 1892 the already infamous outlaws, the Dalton Gang, attempted to rob two banks at once in broad daylight vowing to, “beat anything Jesse James ever did.” But the citizens of Coffeyville proved too much for them. We’ll tour the Dalton Museum, the bank building and trace the footsteps of the out-laws during the famous shootout during their attempted escape. Just 6 years later a family discovered the second largest natural gas basin in the country and built a 20,000 sq. ft. mansion. We’ll tour this incredible home built the same year that Tulsa became a city. Have you ever enjoyed an ICEE drink on a hot day? We’ll have a complimentary ICEE to toast the Coffeyville inventor. Have you heard of the Funk Airplane or the Breezy Airplane? Both were introduced in Coffeyville and we’ll tour the old airport where they first began. Remember reading Little House on the Prairie? Well, let’s go see it! Interesting history and more adventure awaits us as we visit the town just north of the Oklahoma border in May. Hope you can join the fun.
