    FADE IN

    INT. WORKSHOP - NIGHT

    There is a small red, round thing which looks like a ballon the floor. It is made up of granite tiles next to

    wooden stairs which are not very new and a little damaged.There is a colorful, fluffy wig a little ahead. It lookslike clowns wig. Right next to it there are the feet of aman, lying on the ground.

    INT. EXHIBITION HALL - DAY

    An exhibition hall filled with lots of charcoal artworks.The hall is full of sophisticated looking people, withbusinesslike, high-quality clothes and serious attitudes.

    AMY PAGE, (late 20s), arrives with a beige dress with

    golden accessories. Her long, blonde hair is tightly tiedup on the back of her head. She looks elegant. She walksby people.

    A WOMANOh my God, Amy! They are great!

    AMYThanks, Karen; glad youre here.

    A MANCongratulations!

    AMY(as she smiles a littleshyly)

    Thank you very much.

    As Amy looks around she sees a good looking man staring ather. When she catches his eye, he starts to walk towardsher. Amy looks nervous. The man stands next to hersmiling. His name is Mark Jones. He is tall, dark, in hisearly 30s.

    MARK

    Where is the real artist hiding?I promise I wont tell anyone.

    AMYI cant tell you. We had afifty-fifty deal

    MARK(gets closer)

    I knew it. Artists dont usuallylook this good.

    Amy smiles and looks at the ground as she bites her lip.

    MARKIm Mark Jones. Im one of thepartners of Ivys restaurantchain. It is a pleasure to meetyou, Amy Page.

    INT. AMYS LIVING ROOM - NIGHT

    A small house with a living room and the kitchen on thefirst floor and a bedroom and a bathroom upstairs. Theonly door except the one in the entrance is the bathroomdoor. The house is mostly white with metal accessories.Amy is sitting on her white fluffy couch with legscrossed. She is looking at her artworks pictures spreadon the glass table in front of her. She hears the doorbelland runs to the door. She opens it. Mark is there with alittle cupcake and a single lighted candle on it. He iswearing a suit.

    MARKIt was a great month, honey.

    Mark hold outs the cake towards Amy. Amy blows the candle.

    MARKCome on get ready. Were goingout.

    AMYYou know I cant. I have thisinterview thing.

    MARKIs it that important?

    AMY(smiling)

    It can make me more famous.

    MARKYoure not into fame.

    AMY

    Yeah but fame equals money andthey are not building the schoolfor free.

    MARKSo youre really serious aboutthat. Well, are you stillinsisting the fact that you willonly raise charcoal artists?

    Amy looks and tears of the corners of her fingers.

    MARKBut will I be able to be with mygirlfriend on her birthday?

    AMY(with a teasing attitude)

    I dont know. If she has timefrom her fans.

    Mark smiles and wraps his arms around Amys waist.

    INT. AMYS LIVING ROOM - DAY

    Amy is sitting on the big, white, fluffy couch. A thin,brunette woman in her late 30s is sitting on the gray

    armchair next to it. There is also a man holding a camera.

    INTERVIEWER(looking at the camera)

    Today we are with the amazingcharcoal artist Amy Page. HelloMiss Page first of all thank youfor having us in your home.

    AMYYoure welcome. Its a pleasure.

    INTERVIEWER

    You had a great success andbecame very popular in a shorttime. How did you get started andwhat made you this successful?

    AMYWell it was obvious that I wasgoing to do an arty thing. Istarted even before I couldwrite...

    The interviewer carefully listens to her and smiles

    politely.

    INT. WORKSHOP - NIGHT

    A workshop with a drawing board, a wooden easel, cupboardand wooden chairs; lots of charcoal spread all around andbeige walls. Amy is standing beside the table, sharpeninga charcoal. She hears a creaking from outside. She getsout of the room. She looks down the wooden stairs,terrified.

    MARK(only his voice)

    Happy birthday Miss. Page.

    She is stunned, she looks like there is a ghost down thestairs.

    INT. AMYS LIVING ROOM - DAY

    The interviewer looks at her notes in front of her.

    INTERVIEWERYou dont use any bright colorsand colors are usually importantfor artists to expressthemselves. They usually have aspecific reason if they do not.Did you just did not try or triedand didnt think you weresuccessful enough? Or isnt thatyour style.

    AMY(with a serious, distantface)

    I didnt try.

    Amy looks bothered.

    INT. WORKSHOP - NIGHT

    Amy seems like she cannot move.

    MARKDid your interview go badly? I

    know you have been very stressedlately but Ive come to cheer youup.

    Marks hand tries to reach to her, he has red balloons inhis hand. Tears come down from Amys widely opened eyes.She is shaking.

    INT. AMYS LIVING ROOM - DAY

    The interviewer continues without considering Amysuncomfortable attitude.

    INTERVIEWERWhy didnt you try? People saythat theyve never seen you in acolored dress either.

    AMY(with a more angry voice)

    I want to keep this informationto myself.

    Amy looks tense.

    INTERVIEWERWe will continue our interviewwith Amy Page after the break.

    INTERVIEWER(getting closer and bending

    towards Amy)Look honey Ive been doing thisjob for years. This can changeyour life. Wouldnt it be bad foryou to be humiliated in front ofthousands of people? For yourdreams, your school? So show yourcards and well both be happy.

    The interviewer looks at Amy in a serious and a littlethreatening way.

    INT. WORKSHOP - NIGHT

    Amy is shaking.

    MARKThis was one of my temporary jobsbefore. I thought that I wouldmake you smile. But it is alittle humiliating.

    Amy is shaking even more. She is sweating and cannotbreathe at all.

    MARKAre you OK? I thought that itwould cheer you up.

    She starts to scream. The voice tries to calm her down.She does not look like she can perceive what he is saying.She screams even louder. Nothing can be understood of whatshe is saying because she is stuttering terribly.

    INT. AMYS LIVING ROOM - DAY

    Amy looks threatened by the woman. She tries to smile when

    the camera starts to roll on again.

    INTERVIEWERAnd were back with the greatcharcoal artist Amy Page. So MissPage you were telling why you areso against colors.

    Amy hesitates, looks around.

    INT. WORKSHOP - NIGHT

    Mark tries to hold Amy. Amy holds the knife tightly whichshe was using to sharpen the charcoals.

    INT. AMYS LIVING ROOM - DAY

    Interviewer gets closer to Amy a little more.

    INTERVIEWERMiss Page there are lots of

    people who admire you. Wont yougonna help them to get to knowyou better?

    The interviewer is looking into her eyes to get ananswer.

    AMY(as she tries to control herstutter and the tears comingdown)

    I have coulrophobia.

    Amy holds down her head and wipes the tears.

    INT. WORKSHOP - NIGHT

    Amy closes her eyes and squeeze the knife even more. Atthe same time Mark takes off the wig, the fake nose andtries to say something as he touches Amy. Amy starts toscream as she pushes him down the stairs.

    INT. AMYS LIVING ROOM - DAY

    The interviewer does not say anything. The interviewer and

    the cameraman look confused.

    AMYI am terrified of clowns. Nobodyknows or remembers how itstarted. Most people dont takeit seriously. Bright colors makeme see hallucinations and make mysituation even worse. Ive hadprofessional help but it is atthe highest degree so nobodycould do anything about it.

    The interviewer and the cameraman look shocked. Amy looksrelieved but she cannot stop her tears. She tries tosmile.

    INT. WORKSHOP - NIGHT

    Amy walks down the stairs and sits on a step. She pullsher legs to her chest. She sits there with wide open eyes,shaking. Mark is lying on the floor. There is the wig, ared clown nose next to Marks feet and beige granite tilesunderneath them.
