Script of Documentary Tia Chouhan as News Presenter Line 1 On the night of Friday 13th November, a student from Cardinal Newman School was murdered. Line 2 The murder of Lucy Barrat was sentenced for life. Angelika Zubrzycka as Tanya Bardsley Q1: Were you aware of what your daughter was capable of doing? No, I weren’t, she is a calm lovely girl, my lovely child. Q2: Did you speak to her that night? No, she ran in and straight out of the house, I just thought that she was in a hurry. Q3: Were you not concerned? Of course I was concerned. I rang and rang her, left her voicemails. I was getting really worried. Caitlin O’Mara as Ruby Jones FIRST INTERVIEW: Q1: What were you doing after school? We were walking to the shop after school as we usually do, just a normal day. Q2: Where were you? We always walk through a subway instead of crossing the motorway as its safer.

Q3: Did you know what was going to happen next? I had no idea what was going to happen as I said it was a normal day. SECOND INTERVIEW: Q1: How did it happen? It all happened so quickly; I didn’t know what to do. Q2: Do you know why it happened? At the time, no, but now I know the reason. Q3: What’s the reason? I don’t feel confortable with answering this question. Emma Nugent as Leanne Brown Q1: What happened that night? We were out and her boyfriend Joshua came to get Rosie. He rang me saying she was about to something stupid, he was panicked and flustered. Q2: Do you know why she did that? Basically, Lucy slept with Joshua and he told Rosie. She’s gone and flipped out, left josh screaming about how mad she is telling everyone, she’s gonna kick off. Q3: How do you feel? I can’t believe it, she’s not who I thought she was. I can’t believe Lucy’s gone.

Aaron Checkley and Niamh Dalton as Kevin and Christina Barrat Q1: Were you aware of what was happening that night? We had no idea what was happening, when we realized she didn’t come home at the time that she told us she was, Kevin called the police. Q2: What about you Kevin? When she didn’t come home, we started panic and that’s when I called the police. Q3: How are you feeling now? I’m absolutely devastated, I can’t believe our little girl has gone. I’m trying to come to terms with it. I think she needs justice for what has happened. Q4: Kevin? Obviously we are very distort but there’s not a lot we can do now. Q5: And what would you like to happen next? Whoever did this would need to be taught a lesson.
