SCIAA Cross Country KickOff Event On Tuesday, September 5th, the SCIAA will be hosting the first-ever High School Cross Coun-try Kickoff at Ed-Rice Frayser Community Center. The first race will begin at 5:00pm and the second race starting at 5:45pm. Please come out and support the student-athlete runners in their first meet of the season. Upcoming Meetings As we are well into the fall sports season, we begin to look forward to winter sports. The SCIAA holds preseason meetings for all sports. These meetings are mandatory for all SCIAA school participating in these sports. September 13th-SCIAA Bowling Meeting and Coaches Clinic at Winchester Bowl September 13th-SCIAA Middle School Basketball Coaches’ Meeting at SCIAA Office September 21st-Winter Sports Meeting at SCIAA Office (High School Basketball, Swimming, and Wrestling)

Come out and join us Septem-ber 9th for the SCIAA Middle School Girls Soccer PlayDay. We have an exciting day of soc-cer scheduled at Cordova Stadi-um and Soccer Fields. Year after year this event proves to be a great family event.

Admission is $3.00. Conces-sions will be available.

SCIAA Teams Up with the American Red Cross Shelby County Interscholastic Athletic Association announced today that they will be team-ing up with the American Red Cross to assist with helping people affected by Hurricane Har-vey. The SCIAA will make district wide PA announcements at all high school football games and ask every school to read a PA announcement at their home events-To donate $10 to the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts text “HARVEY” to 90999. Thank you in advance for your sup-port to our neighbors. “We feel this is an effective way to make sure that our communities know that together we can change thou-sands of lives with as little as $10,” said India Weaver, Athletic Manager for Shelby County Schools. “We are happy to join forces with other athletic associations supporting relief efforts.”
