GENERALINSTRUCTIONS TO APPUCANTS1) Five completesetsof application orms are to be submitted o the Indian Mission.2) Candidate should clearly mention the course and University to which helshe isseekingadmission.The applicants are advised to go through the "UniversityHandbook" available with our Mission before giving these details.

ICCR would not be able to entertain a subsequent hange in course of study orUniversity once admissionof a scholar s confirmed and the scholar has arrived tojoin the course.3) Certified copies of all documentsshould be accompaniedwith English ranslations.A syllabusof the lastqualifyingexaminationshouldbe enclosedwith the application.NOTE;

a) Students applying for doctoraVpost-doctoral courses or architectureshould include a synopsis of the proposed area of research.b) Students wishing to study performing arts should, if possible,enclose Video/audio cassettes of their recorded performances.

+) Candidatesmust pass a English ProficiencyTest conductedby Indian Mission.5). ICCR will not entertainapplicationswhich are sent o ICCRdirectlyby the studentsor which are sent by local Embassy/HighCommissions n New Delhi.6) Priority will be given to studentswho have never studied n India before.7) No applicationwill be accepted or admission o courses n medicineor dentisty.8) Candidatesmay note that Indian universities,/educationalnstitutionsare autonomous

and independent and hence have their own eligibility criteria. Forwarding ofapplications s thus not a guaranteeof admission.A scholarship s awardedonlywhen admission s confirmed by ICCR.9) Student must carry a proper visa. Scholars for structured undergraduateandpostgraduatecourses should carry full term "student Visas" while for Ph. D.students ResearchVisas" for a specificperiod oI 4-5 years s required.Studentsshould ensure that they get the correct visa from the Indian Embassy,/HighCommission. Govt. of India guidelines tipulate hat if a scholar arrives withoutproper visa and his actual admissionat the University,/lnstitute oes not materialize,he/she will be deported to his/her country.

In the case of students who require Research Visas, an additionalapplicationfor the ResearchVisa has to be filled and submitted n six copies alongwith sixphotographs & synopsis.Applicants may note that clearanceof ResearchVisa cantake as long as six to eight months.

Before departing for India the scholarsshouldseeka full briefing from the IndianDiplomatic Mission n their countryabout living conditions n India/the detailsofscholarshipthetype anddurationof thecourse o whichhe/sheis admitted.Scholarsshould nform the Indian Embassyz/High ommissionof their travelschedulewell inadvance o that ICCR can make receptionand otherarrangementsor them.Hostel accommodation s not guaranteedand is an exceptionrather than an assuredfacility.
