Course description:Introduces students to electronic data
processing systems and techniques in the context of organizational management information systems. Types of hardware and software for information needs and problem solving, source-document preparation, flow-charting and system design .

Learning objectives:At the end of the course, the students will be able to:
• Thoroughly discuss methods of improving internal and external business processes using Information Technology
• List and discuss current methods for building and maintaining Information Systems
• Present methods an Information Services manager may use to recognize and respond to common system-related risks
• Relate the role of the Information Services department to other departments within the company
• Discuss how to motivate staff in an information-technology-based environment
• Present upcoming trends in Information Technology and list the common methods of integrating these trends into current operations of product and service organizations
