9/26/2016 - Welcome Falcon Fans! We had our annual Booster Club Ticket Drive yesterday and, thanks to the 120 student-athletes and 31 parent-drivers who volunteered, we raised $9,400.00. We look forward to investing this money in AHS athletic programs soon. Special thanks to Booster Club Vice Presidents Susie Downey and Jen Gorack for coordinating the Ticket Drive and our Avon Day booth; and to our Treasurer, Jim Stapleton, for keeping track of funds raised. What a great weekend it was for the Booster Club and for Avon High School’s athletic teams! Our fall teams are off to a great start, and our Booster Club efforts are as well. After graduating from Avon High School in 2012, Drew Montano moved from Fisher Meadows to the fields at Stonehill College. Drew graduated in May, leaving behind an incredible track record as a star soccer player for the Skyhawks. Drew is the all-time leading scorer for Stonehill. He played 64 games and earned 60 points (22 goals and 15 assists) while playing for the Skyhawks. He also participated in the study abroad program in Florence, Italy, playing soccer with an Italian team because one of his professors was a soccer coach there. This summer, after college, Drew played for Connecticut Football Club in New Britain as part of the new American Soccer League (ASL). Recently, he started a job in Boston and will be playing soccer in the Boston area and hopes to play in Boston’s ASL chapter. An Avon native who got his start on the Avon Soccer clinic field, Drew earned many honors here and at Stonehill. Here is a brief summary: a.
