Profile of the college:

Holy Cross College (Autonomous) Tiruchirappalli, has been in the forefront of womens education for eight decades and more. It is a catholic institution established in 1923.The college was granted autonomous status from June 1987.The college was accredited by NAAC in 1999 with FIVE STARS, and in the year 2005 the college was re- accredited by NAAC with A Grade.

About the Department:

The department of Mathematics was established in the year 1923. In the year 1992 and 1994, U.G. and P.G. courses were started under self-financing programs. The department aims at providing strong foundation and impart skills . Keeping in view of the globalization of higher education, the curriculum is modified and restructured periodically.

The Department Carnival :

The department of Mathematics, Holy Cross College is proud to announce ULTRA MATH10 a one day carnival to enrich the horizon of the student.

MATH MAESTRO:

Prelims will be conducted. 2 members per team. Questions will be based on General Maths, Mathematicians, Recent trends in Maths.

CROSSWORD PUZZLE:

2 members per team.

MATH RANGOLI:

2 members per team. Any sort of materials can be used (materials will not be provided). Judgement will be based on the maximum usage of mathematical concepts.

MATH POEM:

1 student per college. Medium- Tamil or English. Judgement will be based on the maximum usage of mathematical properties and terms.

MATH MODELLING:

2 members per team.
