SBI & SBI FOUNDATION AT THE NIBM GOLDEN JUBILEE CELEBRATION, NIBM CAMPUS, PUNE. On 12th February 2019, National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM), which is an autonomous apex institution for research, training, education and consultancy in bank management, celebrated its Golden Jubilee in the presence of The Hon’ble President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind as the Chief Guest along with the First lady of the country, Smt. Savita Kovind. Shri Shaktikanta Das, Governor, Reserve Bank of India & Chairman, NIBM Governing Board welcomed Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari as the Guest of Honour for the event. The Deputy Governors and Executive Directors of RBI and heads and directors of many banks and financial institutions participated in the celebrations. In all, more than 550 persons attended the function. On the landmark occasion of the Golden Jubilee celebration, the leading banks of the country showcased their contribution in areas of Financial Inclusion, Digital Payments, Corporate Social Responsibility and Women Empowerment/Gender Equality. SBI, being a leading bank of India and also the major contributor towards social development, showcased the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contribution at the event. SBI through its CSR arm SBI Foundation, presented 3D-Model depicting three major programs, SBI RSETIs, SBI Gram Seva and SBI Youth for India Fellowship Programme. Among other Banks and Financial Institutions, SBI stood at the top in the presentation. The Hon’ble President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind along with the First lady of the country, Smt. Savita Kovind visited our Kiosk at the event. On behalf of SBI and SBI Foundation, Shri Nixon Joseph, (President & COO, SBI Foundation) and Shri Vilas Kulkarni, (Chief Manager, FI&MF, Nodal Officer RSETIs, Maharashtra Circle) presented the 3D-Model to all the dignitaries at the event. On the occasion, the NIBM Golden Jubilee logo was unveiled by the Governor of Maharashtra. The Governor also released a coffee-table book and presented the first copy of the same to the President of India. The Governor of RBI presented a customized stamp on Golden Jubilee of NIBM, to the President of India. During the Golden Jubilee address by The Hon’ble President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, emphasised on adoption of Technology, Innovation, Accessibility to ‘Divyang’ persons, Entrepreneurship, Financial inclusion etc. “From a small beginning, banks have become multicultural organisations. Banks, therefore, stand for the values of plurality enshrined in our Constitution. It is important that we continue to pursue equality and diversity both within the banks as well as in extending our services to the society.”- The Hon’ble President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind.
