The global warming . Earth’s temperature is

rising. This is called global warming.

Carbon dioxide is the main greenhouse gas. We produce it when we burn fossils fuels like coal, gas and oil. This is a human activity. Human activities are a major cause of global warming.

The effects of the global warming.

1-The temperature on Earth is hotter than in the past.

2-the ice at the poles is melting

3-The water and seasons are changing.

4- Many animals like pinguins are losing their homes. They are in danger of extinction.

5- The level of the seas and oceans is rising.

In 2004, Spain produced enough carbon dioxide to cover a football pitch up to 94km high!

People, towns and industries have a carbon footprint. This is the amount of carbon dioxide your activities produce. It is called a footprint because it leaves a mark on the environment. Many countries are reducing their carbon footprint.
