RE-ROOFING FOR INOX MULTIPLEX AT CITY CENTER MALL IN SILIGURI

Project RequirementsThe bearing structure of the Multiplex roof was sloped corrugated metal profile. The existing treatment was having thermal insulation with XPS and self-adhesive bituminous membrane. The water ingress was a result of cracks and failed joints of the membrane. The screening of the movies in the multiplex was getting interrupted in occasion of rain. The mall authority desired to have a waterproofing solution with aesthetically pleasing appearance of the roof surface without causing disturbance during screening.

Sika SolutionMechanically Fastened UV resistant exposed Sarnafil Roofing system without removing existing bitumen membrane and insulation and without causing noise disturbance. A high wind load resistance was also considered as building is located at a high altitude (122m, MSL) with a high wind speed upto 30m/sec.Sika Jet Stream software being used for the calculation of mechanical fixing & membrane layout.
