The California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) Home Visiting Program (HVP) is for parents who are currently pregnant and/or have a child less than 24 months old.

The goals of HVP include:• Supporting positive health,

development, and outcomes forpregnant and parenting women,families and infants,

• Expanding future educational,economic, and financialcapability, and

• Improving the likelihood thatfamilies will transition out ofpoverty.

Home Visiting Program Participation

Participation in HVP can be included in Welfare to Work (WTW) hours and used to meet Work Participation requirements.

Participation includes: • Parent workshops and coaching,

and• Weekly 90 minute in-home

visitation sessions.

Services • Child and family education,• Screenings and assessments,• Employment and training

opportunities,• Mental health evaluations,• Immigration referrals and

services,• Linkage to high quality early

learning,• Transportation assistance,

including gas cards and buspasses, and

• Health and safety items.
