Title of the Project: Creating Awareness about Solar Lighting in India

Objective of the Project: To study the scope for solar lighting in rural India and

formulate a plan for creating awareness for the same amongst rural Indians.

Brief Description of the Report: This report aims at studying the conditions in rural India

with regards to electricity consumption and availability. It will further study the rural

market as a potential market for solar lighting, based on the current expenditure spent

on the same. It will go on to suggest steps to create awareness of solar lighting among

the rural population.

Methodology: Market Research of the rural market would be both based on primary

and secondary data. Primary data would be collected by the group from 2-3 villages.

Secondary data on rural energy consumption would also be collected from public

sources and from the internet.
