The plant-based marketAccording to Kantar, the UK plant-based market was worth £1.8 billion in 2019 with an annual growth rate of 8%. Reports of the growth in veganism and flexitarian (meat reduction) diets have stimulated more manufacturers, food service outlets and retailers to enter this space. According to Mintel, 16% of all new food products in the UK in 2018 carried a vegan claim and vegan claims onmenus in restaurants have increased by 55% (MCA).
