EISODIKONCome, let us worship and bow down before Christ, O Son of God, who art risen from the dead, save us who sing unto thee, Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia.

TROPARION OF THE RESURRECTION (TONE 8) From the heights Thou didst descend, O Compassionate One, and Thou didst submit to the three-day burial, that Thou might deliver us from passion, Thou art our life and our resurrection: O Lord, glory to Thee.

TROPARION OF SAINT GEORGE, PATRON OF OUR COMMUNITY (TONE 4)As deliverer of captives, and defender of the poor, healer of the infirm, champion of kings, victoriousGreat-Martyr George, intercede with Christ our God, for our souls' salvation.

KONTAKION OF THE THEOTOKOS (TONE 2)O protection of Christians that cannot be put to shame, mediation unto the Creator most constant, O despise not the suppliant voices of those who have sinned; but be thou quick, O good one, to come unto our aid, who in faith cry unto thee: Hasten to intercession, and speed thou to make supplication, thou who dost ever protect, O Theotokos, them that honor thee.

EPISTLE AND GOSPEL Prokeimenon and Verse: Make your vows to the Lordour God and perform them. God is known inJudah; His Name is great in Israel.

The Reading is from Apostle Paul's SecondLetter to the Corinthians (6:16-7:1; for the 17th Sunday)

Brethren, we are the temple of the living God;as God said, “I will live in them and move among them, and I will be their God, and theyshall be My people. Therefore come out from them, and be separate from them,” says theLord, “and touch nothing unclean; then I will welcome you, and I will be a father to you, andyou shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, and make holinessperfect in the fear of God.

Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia.

The Reading is from the Holy Gospel accordingto Saint Luke (6:31-36; second Sunday of Luke)

The Lord said: “As you wish that men would doto you, do so to them. If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Foreven sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, whatcredit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom youhope to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive as much again. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your rewardwill be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He is kind to the ungrateful and theselfish. Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.”
