Please Pray for our Engaged Couples
Lord God, the source of all love, the wise plan of your providence has
brought these young people together. As they prepare themselves for the
sacrament of marriage and pray for your grace, grant that, strengthened by
your blessing, they may grow in their respect for one another and cherish
each other with a sincere love. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen

Michigan Values Life
A statewide signature gathering ef-
fort is now underway across Michi-
gan to ban the dismemberment abor-
tion procedure. Over the next few
months, the signatures of 400,000
registered voters are needed to bring this
measure before Michigan lawmakers. Contact the par-
ish office to sign the dismemberment abortion peti-
tion and make your pro-life voice heard today.
There is also a second petition drive from the “Michigan
Heartbeat Coalition.” The petition language would
prohibit any abortion after cardiac activity is detected
(approximately 6-8 weeks of gestation). While the in-
tent of this legislation is honorable, there is cause for great concern. Michigan law already protects all unborn
children, once a heartbeat is detected and even prior to
its detection. This heartbeat petition drive could weak-
en and potentially supersede Michigan’s existing pro-life
law. Therefore, Michigan Catholic Conference and
the Catholic bishops in this state are not supporting
the heartbeat drive: www.micatholic.org/
MichiganValuesLife/.
