desire to come up for a blessing instead of communion, indicate this by crossing
your arms on your chest.
Gluten-free communion wafers are available upon request.
Just let the clergy know if you require these.
At the 7:45 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services, we offer an opportunity for prayers for
yourself or a loved one – for healing, support, or thanksgiving – during communion
at the altar rail for the early service and in the southwest corner of the church for

Homecoming Sunday: TODAY
Homecoming, a time to return to routine and renew our commitment to the
ministries of Saint Mark’s Parish. The TEDTalk Adult Education series
continues this Sunday morning from 9:00—10:15 a.m. in the Brown Library.
Sunday School begins. Classes are available for children preschool through
6th grade. Children should gather at 10:30 a.m. in the church library for a brief
orientation before splitting into separate classes. Parent Visioning Meetings
are at 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. The Youth Group will have their first meeting
of the year at 5:00 p.m. Watch your email for more details on this event.

Parents, do you have thoughts and ideas about about Children, Youth, and
Family Ministries at Saint Mark's? Come share, listen, and dream with us.
Parker Garrett, the new CYF Director, will host visioning sessions on
Sunday, September 7th to hear your ideas. Parents of youth (6th-12th
graders) are invited to meet in Brown Library from
2-3pm. Parents of children (5th grade and under) are invited to meet in the
same location from 3-4pm. Feel free to stop by for part of the hour or stay the
whole time. Please RSVP to Parker at [email protected] to let her
know if you can make it.
Women’s Soup will meet Tuesday, September 9, at 6:30 p.m. at New Delhi
Palace, 950 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, hosted by Charlotte Mathews. Call

Saint Mark’s Choristers
The Choristers will kick off the new school year with a Chorister party on
Wednesday, September 17 between the Junior and Senior Chorister
rehearsals. The Kindergarten and first Graders rehearse at 3:15 p.m. in the
Music Room and the 2nd through 6th graders rehearse at 4:00 p.m. Come
join us for the celebration at 3:45 p.m. in the Community Hall! To sign up for
Choristers fill out the permission form in this bulletin and return it to the
Church Office.

We enjoy a 20-minute Centering Prayer period and then a short video of

discuss current topics and decide on projects to support activities at Saint
Mark’s.

Pr. Carri is leading a lively study and discussion of the Acts of the Apostles.

This group meets once a week to read aloud a book of interest. Presently they
are reading the first in the series of The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency.
Crafts Booth
At the Rock ‘n Roll Fall Fest this year the craft booth ̶ “Chic Boutique” ̶ will
feature three items for sale: quality handmade jewelry, wreaths, and
knitted/crocheted items. Janis Rosebrook and Marti Farley, co-chairs, know
very talented parishioners are out there who can help us fill the booth with
handmade bracelets, earrings, hair clips, brooches, knitted scarves, sweaters,
and baby items. Plus how about crafty people who make wreaths for home
decor that wow us all? Please contact us if you are willing to donate your
