Abortion is the most unregulated industry in America. Veterinary clinics and hair salons have more regulations than most abortion clinics. Yet, more and more cases are coming forward of deceptive practices, manipulative pressures, unsanitary conditions, injuries, and maternal deaths. Speak out and stop this hideous assault against women and their babies. Write your elected representatives, be a voice for the unborn. As you leave Mass, the August edition of the Life News is available for your information. Pick up a copy as you leave Church.

SOME STEWARDSHIP THOUGHTS: In today’s second reading, St. Paul encourages us not to grow weary or lose heart, but to persevere in following Jesus. Our willingness to stand up for the Truth, even in the face of conflict and division, is one way to measure our discipleship. Let us consider the second pillar of Christian Stewardship – Prayer. Without prayer it is very difficult to hear the voice of God in our lives. Even Jesus prayed before making big decisions in His life! Try to incorporate prayer into your daily lives – say grace before meals, go to Mass, intercede for others, ask God to guide you, give thanks for the gifts He has given to you. Ask and listen. Spending our leisure time for the glory of God can be one way to prayerfully enjoy our time off, even if it’s only a few days of vacation. The Christian idea of recreation is more about renewal – a change from the everyday routine. It means to re-create, to make new. LIVING STEWARDSHIP: We are grateful this week for all stewards in our parish who encourage others to pray. CELEBRATING OUR GIFTEDNESS: We celebrate the gifts of time, prayer, and mercy shared with us by our PEACE ROSARY prayer group. This group meets on Monday evenings to pray for peace in our families, community, and the world. Call Anne (631-598-2037) to join or for more information. All are welcome.

We celebrate this week the Queenship of Mary. We honor her “Yes” that brought her joy, sorrow, and ultimately a crown of glory. Amen.
