Nestled in a sheltering ring of historical barns and ancient arching trees amid forty-one acres of undulating farm fields, this 2900 square foot four bedroom, three bath home offers a wonderful floor plan for family living. Long gravel drive bounded on each side by double rows of Spruce trees leads to lovely formal landscaped entry gardens with curved brick walkway and covered porch entry. A two-story main foyer with angled stairway leading to upper level bedrooms and family room loft provides a dramatic entry to the home. Open 26x16 living/dining space with nine-foot ceilings is anchored by stone gas log fireplace and brightened by a series of double hung Andersen windows. The 26x13 family-style kitchen provides an immense amount of Maple cabinetry storage, including two built-in pantries as well as a center island with cook top and raised snack bar. Off the kitchen is a full bath plus a mudroom/laundry room accessing insulated, heated 28x32 garage. Master suite comprised of 16x13 bedroom and 16x13 bath with two walk-in closets is located in north wing of main level. Features of the home include ceiling fans in all rooms, six-panel solid oak doors and wide oak trim throughout, fully irrigated landscaping and lawns. Located just one mile north of the 37-square mile Federal Campground that houses the Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness Area along the shore of Lake Michigan and three miles south of direct public access to Lake Michigan beaches at Magoon Creek Natural Area this property offers a tremendous lifestyle for all outdoor enthusiasts, horse persons and/or would be gentleman farmers. Asking $395,000.

March 11-13, 2011, Lansing, MI Expanding Horizons in the Horse Industry:

A National Gathering of Youth Horse Leaders

Hosted by Michigan State University - Join the nation’s most diverse group of horse oriented youth leaders, representing breed associations, equine sport organizations, Cooperative Extension, universities, and the crucially important hands-on youth leaders from such groups as 4-H, U.S. Pony Club, National High School Rodeo, Future Farmers of America, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and more as they come together to learn about and share what is happening in the youth horse industry. Internationally and nationally respected presenters are assembled to share their keys to successful youth horse programming with you. The 34th annual AYHC Symposium will provide you with take-home tools to teach youth about safe and effective horsemanship. Attendees will find resources, referrals, and networking to help kids connect through horses.
