Diocesan Guidelines for Resuming Mass

Several important reminders for a safe and orderly transition:

*We will follow the current guidance from the civil and health authorities. *Before attending Mass remember substantial risks remain for infection.

*Bishop Estévez continues the dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass. The Sunday Mass will continue to be streamed.

*Remember that both of your priests are in the higher risk category. Weekend Masses are permitted beginning on May 16/17; daily Masses on May 18, and subject to the following conditions: I will resume the regular, full schedule of Masses at their usual times. Physical distancing of six feet for seating. This will impose restrictions on the number of people par-

ticipating in Masses in the church. I already have a committee working to determine what that number is. I expect all to respect the health of one another and the restrictions of numbers.

You must wear a mask at all times while at church. Only at Communion can masks be lifted. There will be no hymnals or books in the pews. The choir will sing. If you attend Mass in the church, please follow the instructions on where you can and cannot sit. There

will be no seating in the narthex except for families with small children in the pews. It may be possible to stream the 8:00AM Mass in your car in the parking lot with Communion in the

parking lot after Mass. Entering and exiting the church will be with care. Entering is through the main door. Exiting is different.

People in the rear of the church will exit first, keeping the spacing. People in front either wait your turn or go out through the two front, side doors.

Communion. Ministers will cleanse hands before and after Communion. Remain seated until your row’s turn and observe the markers on the floor for spacing. Communion is in the hand only - no exceptions - and not from the cup. Gloves if worn must be removed before receiving.

It is helpful if you bring your own wipes and/or hand sanitizer. Supplies are extremely scarce, even for churches.

For people not risking Mass in the church, Communion Services can be arranged at times other than Sun-day. Confessions are from 4:30 to 5:00, in the parking lot, in your car if possible. All other sacraments are by arrangement.
