Sacred Heart Catholic Church Fourth Sunday of Easter ~ May 3, 2020
Reflections from the Stewardship Office
Jesus says, “A thief comes only to steal and slaughter and destroy; I came so
that they might have life and have it more abundantly.” Hopefully you have not
encountered an actual thief in your house! But consider for a moment some of
the figurative “thieves” that may be dwelling in your heart and home …
anxiety, fear, anger, resentment. These “thieves” are robbing you of the
abundant joy God means for you to have – they slowly and subtly destroy your
discipleship. In today’s gospel, Jesus hopes that the Pharisees will realize He is
accusing them of falling victim to such thieves. Let’s take a moment to look at
ourselves in comparison to the Pharisees. Do we also need to hear this message
with humility? Jesus has empowered you with the Holy Spirit…you were made
to live life abundantly. Learn to ignore the voices of the “thieves” and instead
follow the call of the Good Shepherd!

Knight and Family of the Month
Council 2614 would like to congratulate John Pool for
being selected Knight / Family of the Month for March
2020. John is a Third Degree Knight and has been a
Knight for 16 years. John and his wife Holli operate
several locally owned businesses in the area working
closely together. John and Holli have three children:
Bryce, Lacey and Jordan. They have several
grandchildren. John supplies the refrigeration truck and
portable ice freezer that assists the council with the
annual fundraisers, the Arkalalah booth and Sausage and

council, parish and community. Congratulations on
being selected for Council 2614 Knight / Family of the
