Thank you to everyone who rode in the 2017 Bike to Work Day Challenge. Overall, 36 business teams totaling 301 reported employees participated in the event. That is a new record number of businesses and riders! What a great Santa Clarita Bike Week we had!

Saturday, September 23, 2017 • 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.Come help clean a portion of the Santa Clara River, the longest free-flowing river and one of the last two natural river systems remaining in Southern California. Be a part of the solution for a better environment by helping to preserve the river’s natural beauty and variety of wildlife. To date, thousands of volunteers have collected more than 422,000 pounds of trash and debris from the Santa Clara River and its tributaries! Pre-registration will be required again this year but we have a convenient, web-based volunteer registration system. You will need to create an account first. What will NOT be accepted:• HHW and E-Waste from businesses• Explosives, ammunition and radioactive materials• Trash and tires• White goods (refrigerators, stoves, washing machines, etc)• Controlled substances
This is a one-day, drive-through HHW and E-Waste collection event for residents to drop off their household hazardous waste and electronic waste. There is a transportation limit of 15 gallons or 125 pounds of hazardous waste per trip. This event is free and open to all residents of L.A. County.
Household Hazardous Waste Items accepted: Motor oil • Antifreeze • Paint • Paint thinner • Turpentine • Cleaners with acids or lye • Pesticides and herbicides • Household and car batteries • Old computers and television sets • Sharps or used needles
