IMO S-VDR CarriageRequirementIn December 2004, the International MaritimeOrganization (IMO) adopted a new regulationthat requires all cargo vessels operating ininternational waters to carry a simplifiedvoyage recorder system (S-VDR).
The rules are as follows for existing cargovessels constructed before 1 July 2002:
• Cargo vessels greater than 20,000 gross tonsare required to have an S-VDR installed ontheir first scheduled dry-docking after 1 July2006 but not later than 1 July 2009.
• Cargo vessels of 3,000 gross tons andupwards but less than 20,000 gross tons arerequired to have an S-VDR installed at theirfirst scheduled dry-docking after 1 July 2007but not later than 1 July 2010.
Sperry Marine-YourPreferred S-VDR SolutionProviderYour choice of supplier is just as important asyour choice of S-VDR.
With thousands of navigation systems deliveredand installed annually Sperry Marine is anexpert in providing high value navigation solu-
tions. With over 100 years experience indesign, development, installation, servicingand support, Sperry Marine has become aworld leader in the marine electronics industry.
VoyageMaster II S-VDRThe new Sperry Marine VoyageMaster II is acompact system that utilizes the latesttechnology to provide you with the best valueS-VDR on the market. The fully type approvedsystem has a flexible modular design that notonly conforms to IMO requirements butprovides additional video, audio, and signalcapabilities. In addition, we have designed intechnology without losing sight of lowlife-cycle costs or the high quality standardsdemanded of Sperry Marine products.
Mandatory S-VDR SignalList:
