Many of you spent a lot of time and effort helping to prepare for this years meeting and many of you provide valuable resources, in which this society would not be able to exist without. I want to encourage as many of you as possible to become active in our society so we can keep it a diverse and professional society. All of our presenters at this years meeting received very high praise for excellent presentations, therefore I want to thank you for taking the time to share with our society and encourage you to think of topics you might be able to share with us next year. Such a meeting would not be possible without the hard work and financial support from many of our membership. We have received many compliments from people who have attended other APMS chapter meetings and they all ex- pressed how educational and fun our chapter is. This is a real tribute to all of you who made this meeting a success. As we work throughout this year preparing for our next meeting, I would once again, encourage each of you to continue to be active in this society. Whether you provide your talents or financial support it takes a real team effort to maintain the high integrity that this society has established. I am proud to be a part of this society and look forward to working with you all in the year to come. To keep this society interesting and current we are always looking for information or articles to put in our newsletter. If you have any information that you feel would be a benefit for others to hear about please pass it on to our editor, Steve Hoyle. You can reach Steve by email at [email protected]. We also have many different commit- tees you can sign up to assist with. If you are interested in serving on a committee please let one of our board members know so we can get you involved. Each year we put out a call for papers and offer everyone the opportunity to present information to the society. It is one of our goals to keep this society as diverse and intergraded as possible, therefore, if you have any information regarding the management of our water bodies, please pass it on. As this years president, I know you are only as good as the people you surround yourself with, therefore with the quality of people in our society I hope to make this a good year by getting more of you involved. We really have a good thing going here and to keep it going we need to encourage everyone to become involved. It is not uncommon to have the same people do everything for a society, so before we allow those people to get burnt out, lets all offer a helping hand to keep this an exciting and educating society. Your board of directors is working hard to find ways to get more people involved with our society. To close I want to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving and the happiest of holidays.
