APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

• GPA or overall academic performance

• Choice of graduate institution and program

• Age and nationality

• Personal statement

• Research or program statement

• List of activities, awards, etc.

GENERAL APPLICATION PROCEDURES

• Graduate institution– Check the university website.– Consult with someone knowledgeable in your

field about the program.– Consult with someone who has been in the

program, or visit the university if possible.– Research the faculty and their areas of

interest.

• Application form and criteria

• Personal statements – must be well written– Well rounded– Mature– Good character– Sense of purpose– How program will lead to your personal goals

• Mentoring – Assistance with assembling referees– Multiple drafts of personal statement

• Referees – If you intend to apply later, be sure that you make

yourself known to your professors– Contact professors who know you well enough to

support your application

• Curriculum Vitae and list of activities• Required forms and documents.
