A message from the 2014 Race Director

Dear Runners,

On behalf of the Brainerd Jaycees, I would like to thank you forparticipating in the 7th Annual Run for the Lakes. Whetheryou’re new to our event or a returner, we hope that you enjoyall the things that make this event unique.

We are expecting more than 1,800 participants this year andare excited that the event continues to grow. Runners from over20 states and provinces will be participating in the events thisyear. It is our top priority to provide a great experience whererunners can enjoy the natural beauty of the Brainerd LakesArea on a safe and scenic course.

The Upper Midwest experienced one of the coldest winters onrecord. You undoubtedly experienced the frigidness of the pastwinter while training for this event. We are all happy to seethat spring is here and we can enjoy running in better weather.

This event is completely organized and executed by volunteersso please join me in thanking those people for making it possi-ble. We also owe a debt of gratitude to the many sponsors whosupport the event. Many of our sponsors have been supportingthe event for all seven years. They are dedicated not only to thecharitable causes of Run for the Lakes, but also to the healthand wellness of our community as a whole.

Enjoy the race and good luck!
